Dog

I was a stray dog,
Who had no master,
Living in this tiresome world,
Wandering ‘round and ‘round.

I was kicked by everyone,
I was shooed away from restaurants,
I was thrown away to the streets,
I was wrecked by the world.

But there was a man,
He picked me up,
He cleansed by wounds,
And He fed me food.

He told me He’s my Master.
Unlike other dogs who were caged,
It shocked me when He said, I’m free,
But I remained by His side, to stay.

He is my Savior and took me as His own.
He talked to me and played with me.
He gave me no collar,
But placed an ID tag with His contact number.

When I was stained by mud
From playing outside,
He washed me clean,
Making me white again.

When I was lost again,
He looked for me,
And brought me home with Him,
I then slept beside Him for He’s indeed my fortress.
