Coming back to his senses, Yu Yan approached a random pirate.

Yu Yan, "What's so interesting?"

"YANYAN!" The pirate jerked away and clumsily closed his terminal after a few attempts.

"I know I'm intriguing but why are you shouting?"

"It's Yu, Yu Yan—Yanyan", he disorientedly corrected himself.

"What, you want to change my name or something? Add another set of Yu's and Yan's? YuYu YanYan?"

Guilty eyes strayed far. The other pirates were so shocked out of their intensive attention to their screens that some had covered their mouths due to their survival instincts.

Yu Yan looked around and saw Kenji still covertly looking at his terminal screen, and because holographic screen mode was turned off, he couldn't really see what secret was so addicting.

He was just so, so, so curious!

"Let me see—", Yu Yan said as he walked over, only to have Kenji spring up and away from his seat.

Yu Yan, "..."

Yu Yan's outstretched hand, "..."

Yu Yan took one threatening step forward. Kenji took one timid step back. Kenji tried looking for a savior but Quinn was right! The Trites were all sheep in wolf's clothing!

Two more similar steps later, Yu Yan couldn't catch Kenji for some reason and thus changed targets—

Quinn.

Alerted by one look, Yu Yan took three steps towards him, only to have Quinn and a few pirates who were afraid of being implicated beside Quinn to take four steps farther.

Yu Yan, "..."

He took a breath for a moment, hand pinching the inside corners of his eyes.

Then without warning, he sprinted to the nearest person.

In no way was Yu Yan not letting any of the crew get away with blatantly hiding something from him! But perhaps because of the most pronounced fear of getting found out, or the most pronounced desire to preserve their happiness, these unruly pirates tapped their potentials and ran faster than Yu Yan.

However, something like that isn't enough to dissuade Yu Yan.

Yu Yan, chasing: Give me your terminals or I will ground all of you!

The Trites, running: Where's the difference in that?!

Yu Yan, panting: Think clearly! I obviously won't get tired with the first ah!

Thus, this was the scene that the Captain and Gem witnessed as they arrived from the cockpit—a smaller-physiqued Yu Yan chasing a group of big burly pirates like a shepherd dog chasing a flock of sheep that avoided him like the same poles of a magnet.

Gem took a cautious step back. Sure enough, everywhere save for the cockpit was a dangerous place!

Nyx stretched out a hand, then grabbed the collar of a running rock that happened to pass by.

Having been yanked back, the first thing Yu Yan saw was a sneaking Gem on the side trying to grab lunch then ran back to the cockpit.

Gem froze, shivering as if a prey eyed by a hawk. Nyx cleared his throat.

"Dad!", Yu Yan shouted with cute widened eyes then looked back at the person gripping his collar.

"Isn't warm up supposed to be for later? If you have a lot of time, go eat your lunch immediately and train."

Yu Yan was reminded of his oncoming last examination; an actual combat test. A few days back, the Captain had proposed to teach him a few pointers on tactics that would be allowed on the exam, as well as gauge his combat competence. If anything, the third exam and its rules never really change every year. Yu Yan may know how to fight, but at most it was for self defense as he never had to chance to formally learn from anyone.

"Yes~" Yu Yan grabbed a plate and ate.

Given asylum, the Trites settled down. Only, they cautiously settled five feet in radius away from Yu Yan.

Somewhat annoyed, Yu Yan also opened starnet on his terminal.

How can nothing happen when almost all these gossipy pirates were busy with their terminals, heavily jabbing at holographic keyboards and serious faces five centimeters away from the screen?

Yu Yan scrolled through starnet.

Was there something happening online that he missed? Or perhaps they're currently being brainwashed by something? Maybe an intriguing hypnotic video to make rowdy children behave?

Quickly, Yu Yan went back to hide in his cabin and scroll through the news in his terminal. He went through multiple sites, sources, and forums, not finding not a single clue.

The top trending sites and threads on forums didn't even look any bit malicious, just childish stuff that Yu Yan didn't even bother opening any of it.

'Cutest child in the empire'

'#1 Father and child pair'

'Most beautiful person among the stars'

Surely, rowdy pirates wouldn't have such tastes enough to elicit such addictive behaviors? If they did, Yu Yan felt that he and the crew needed a serious talk.

Yu Yan continued scrolling.
