Zander stayed in his room most of the party, as much as Hailey wanted to drag him out she knew that wouldn't help someone. Luke had ended up third wheeling (more like fifth wheeling if you consider Drew and Jake constantly flirting and Milly and Elliot holding hands about 90% of the time).
Hailey and Sean where playing Mario Kart as Luke half payed attention, he missed Zander a lot, but Hailey told him it was better to leave him alone. However after hearing something Elliot said to Milly he just stood up and walked to Zanders room.
"Hey- sweetie?" Luke asked quietly, Zander opened the door and hugged Luke before dragging him inside. "Sorry I just didn't want to be around people today." Luke nodded, understanding why Zander was iffy about today specially.
A few hours later the party was still going, but Luke and Zander were still in Zander's room cuddling. Out of nowhere Zander kissed Luke's cheek and whispered in his ear. "Happy new year babe... I love you."
Luke smiled and held Zander closer, as the shorted snuggled up to him. "I love you too sweetie. Have an amazing new year."
"You're here, its going to be the best."
