"Zander?" Luke met Zander at the gate outside of school before going in. Sometimes they walked to school together, but Lukes mum drove him to school today, so Zander, being the good best friend he is wanted to wait.
"Hey." Zander said with a smile, taken by surprise by Luke suddenly holding his hand. "What are you doing?" He asked. Luke looked over at Zander. "Do you want me to let go?" Luke didn't get a verbal answer but Zander held onto his hand tighter, which said enough.
A few people asked them if they were dating of course neither of the two ever gave a straight answer. Zander was too flustered by the idea to even speak, and Luke didn't want to say something wrong.
Expect when Jake asked, Zander felt like punching him, well until the moment Luke started laughing.
At that point Zander wanted to kiss him.
"No, we aren't dating. But people keep asking."
"Must be annoying."
"Well, I don't really mind, it would be nice to date Zander."
Luke froze when he realized once he had said. There was no going back.
