As Arnav reached home, he walked straight to his grandmother's room, where the old lady and his sister were engaged in an idle chit chat.
Devayani Raizada was startled when she saw her grandson coming straight to her room from the office.
This has never happened before. He would usually go straight to his bedroom, and work a little more. And then to relax, he would do some gardening. And then he would come down only for dinner.
"Chotte?" Devayani raised an enquiring brow at him
Arnav sat on the couch facing his sister and grandmother.
"Nani, I need to speak to you" Arnav said seriously
"Okay. Tell me what is it?" She asked
"I want you to go to the Gupta House tomorrow to ask for Kushi's hand in marriage" Arnav said openly. Once he had accepted that he was in love with Kushi, he found everything else easy to say
Devayani Raizada stared at her grandson in shock.
"I know you are aware of my feelings, nani. Di told me everyone know. So, there is no point in beating around the bush. I will arrange for the gifts to be ready by the morning. All you have to do is go there and talk to her family" Arnav said
"No" Devayani said and it was time for Arnav to be shocked
"What do you mean by no?" He asked with a frown on his face.
"No means, I will not go there taking your proposal" Devayani said with a finality
"Why not?" Arnav asked in disbelief
"Do you think marriage is a child's play? A month ago, you brought Lavanya here. You declared that you are going to live in with her. Then later you announced your engagement with her. And after that you called it off. Now you are saying you want to marry Kushi bitiya. How long will your fancy last? And what will I tell the Guptas when you decide that you are no longer interested in marrying Kushi bitiya?" Devayani asked bluntly
Arnav sucked in a breath as he heard what his grandmother said.
She sees him simply as a playboy, who takes fancy in a woman, use her and then throw her. And can he blame her? His actions so far had shown the exact same
"Nani please don't say that." Anjali begged her grandmother.
"Anjali bitiya, please don't encourage him in his ruthless antics. Lavanya was strong enough to handle what chotte did. I don't think Guptas will be able to handle something like that" The old lady said
"He loves her nani. He is serious" Anjali pleaded her brother's case
"Well. He was in love with Lavanya a month ago" Devayani said sarcastically
"I never claimed to he in love with Lavanya. I admit, I intended to marry her. But I never said the word love. Neither to her, nor to you. I wouldn't lie about something so important nani" Arnav said vehemently and the old lady was taken aback a bit
"It doesn't matter. It is not going to change anything" Nani said
Arnav Singh Raizada is quite the manipulator. He have seen enough people in his life to know how to deal with people.
And his grandmother will only fall for the emotional angle.
"Right. You won't. Only if my momma was alive, I wouldn't have had to come to you nani. Well, orphans do not have choices, right?" Arnav asked bitterly and the old lady was stunned
"Chotte. What non sense are you speaking. Have anybody here made you feel like an orphan. You are our child." Nani said emotionally
"I don't think so. If my momma was alive, she would have been happy that I had fallen in love with a woman like Kushi. But no one here seems to think that way" Arnav said sarcastically
"You are wrong chotte." Nani said
"Then prove it nani." Arnav dared
"Fine. I will take your proposal to the Gupta House. But they know you chotte. Don't blame me if they refuses" Devayani said and a smirk appeared on his face
Arnav Singh Raizada never fails.
He will impress the hell out of the Guptas if needed and they would happily give their daughter to him.

Next morning, all the Raizadas except Arnav reached Gupta House
"Hai re nandakishore. Come in come in. What a surprise!" Bua ji exclaimed as she spotted the Raizadas at her door step and ushered them inside
Soon tea and snacks were served. Akash couldn't take his eyes off the delicate beauty serving the tea for them.
Payal, turned red, seeing that the bespectacled man was as usual staring at her, like Kushi stares at jalebi.
"Kushi bitiya ghar par nahi hei?" Devayani asked
(Is Kushi not home?)
"Ji nahi. Wo kaam ke maamle mein baahar hei" Garima answered
(No, she has gone out for a work matter)
"We are not going to beat around the bush. We are here to ask Kushi bitiya's hand in marriage for my grandson" Devayani said shocking everyone
Payal looked up at Akaash in shock. Her heart breaking.
Akash frowned in confusion seeing the way Payal looked at him.
"Hai re nandakishore. This is such a good news. We don't know what to say. But we will have to discuss with sanka devi" Bua ji said
Devayani was momentarily stunned. She didn't expect them to be happy about the proposal. She had come here solely because her grandson had emotionally blackmailed her into submission. And she was sure that the Guptas are going to reject the proposal.
Anjali was ecstatic seeing that there will be no unwanted drama.
"We have seen Akash bitwa many times. He comes often to Happy ji's garage. Sanka devi has also talked so highly about him. That he had helped her many times during her work in AR" Bua ji continued sending a fond smile Akash's way, making him choke on his tea
"No, no bua ji. You are mistaken. I'm not the groom." Akash interrupted immediately, wanting to clear the confusion
Payal, let out a breath, she didn't knew she was holding.
"Oh. You have a grandson we haven't seen yet?" Bua ji asked in confusion
"Madhumadi ji. We are here to talk about Arnav's marriage" Devayani said awkwardly
"Hei? Lavanya bitiya is back? So, the engagement is happening, after all?" Bua ji asked, still not connecting the dots
"Ji nahi. Our chotte expressed his wish to marry Kushi bitiya. So we are here to ask her hand in marriage for our chotte" Devayani dropped the bomb, shocking the Guptas.
