"Chan, are you sure you're okay? You look weak and have been coughing all morning today. We can stay home instead, there will always be other days to go out and enjoy ourselves," you said, feeling sympathetic for his fragile state.

"No! I mean, I'm fine. We don't have to cancel our date. It's my first day-off in a while after all, it'd be a waste to do so," he assured and cleared his throat.

You sigh at his response.

"Don't pretend I can't tell. You're obviously sick. See, you're burning up! Probably a fever." Your hand had moved his bangs to feel his forehead, hot against your skin. "Come on, you need some rest."

Grabbing his wrist, you pulled him back into the bedroom you shared, ignoring his complaints saying he didn't need it. His body reluctantly climbed into the sheets, still in a black t-shirt and pajama pants.

"Stay here, I'll bring some medicine."

As you turned around to leave, he grabbed your wrist, making you look back to him almost pouting, similar to one of a child's. He didn't speak, but just stared at you with shiny eyes.

"Chan, let me take care of you. I'm not letting you outside until you're better, okay?" You firmly state.

He puffed his cheeks, then exhaled, letting the air flow out. Finally, his hand releases you. You smile and pat him on the head.

"Thank you for understanding, love."

It takes you a few minutes to gather the pills and warm water before making your way back to him. There he laid in bed, peacefully resting with closed eyelids that opened the moment you stepped into the room.

"Swallow this, it should help with your symptoms." You take a seat on the edge of the mattress and pop open a single tablet out of the pack, holding it out for him to take as he sits up straight.

Instead of doing as he's told, Chan doesn't move on inch after getting up from his previous position. He simply folds his hand together, not even glancing at the pill. It raises your confusion, but before you can ask him what's wrong, his voice interrupts the silence.

"I'm sorry. For ruining our plans that you looked forward to all week. I know how excited you were to finally spend some time together after I've been so busy with work lately. Not just you, but I was happy too. Now, a silly cold finds a way to sabotage everything. If you want, we can still go to that park. I promise I'll have enough energy to keep up for the day," he apologetically looks into your eyes, wanting a way to make it up to you.

Setting the glass of water onto the side table along with the capsule, you turned back to him and wrapped your hands around the back of his neck, holding him still so he can listen.

"Hey, don't force yourself to do things for me. A fever is a fever, the only way to get better is to treat it and relax. There's no need to go out when we can just be together here. Your health is our first priority, yeah? We're still able to spend time right here."

He gave a small nod and you released him, going back to handing him the medicine. What surprised you is that he didn't take it, even after your multiple attempts. He didn't say why, but you knew he wasn't going to.

Sighing, you raised your hand and plopped the pill onto your own tongue. This seemed to have caught him off-guard, because your next action left him a blushing mess.

You leaned in and connected your lips, carefully transferring the medication into his mouth. When you were sure it was no longer in your possession, you back away and gesture for him to drink the water.

He on the other hand was still in shock. Your warmth lingered on his senses, though he complied and swallowed after water entered the mix.

"You know... You'll get sick too if you make contact like that," he cleared his throat.

"If I do, then you can take care of me instead." You cheekily smiled, adoring how cute he looked with pink ears.

"Ah... You're the best girlfriend I could ever dream of."

"Aren't I?" You joked, laughing. "It's because you make it so easy to love you. You just have to learn that you need to take a break every once in a while. Too much work and this happens, yeah? We can do fun things when we're both healthy and filled with energy."

Chan wraps his arms loosely around your waist, feeling a sense of comfort with you by his side.

"I love you so much, y/n."

He pulls you closer until he embraces your whole body securely against his chest, one hand on the back of your head and the other around your frame. You let the warmth sink in. His hugs were always the best.

"Me too. I love you a lot," you whispered, eyes closed while you smiled to yourself.
