You couldn't take it anymore. Mustering up the courage, you marched towards the table Seungmin ate at and snatched his arm once again before pulling him away.

He didn't question your action and just allowed you to drag him like usual. You reached out courtyard, and no one around. Probably because the dark clouds in the sky warned of rainfall, not like you cared at the moment.

"Why did you say that?" You let him go and watched him look down at you with a menacing gaze.

"Eavesdropping are we?"

"That's not the point!" You stepped towards him. "I don't take care of you, nor am I from another city like you told them I was. What's with the imaginary girlfriend you're making up?! Are you that embarressed to have me–"

"Embarressed? How could you assume that when you're the one not wanting us to share our marks," Seungmin retorts, annoyance laced in his voice.

"Because I meant it to only be between you and me!! So we don't have to be forced lovers like everyone else!!!"

"Oh, so what!? You want me to brag to everyone that you're my beloved soulmate?? Tell them how much you hate me and can't stand the thought of building our relationship despite the fact we were made for each other?!?" He shouted back at you. "Destiny chose us, y/n. And no matter how much you wish I could be someone else, we both know soulmates are meant to be!!"

You wanted to fight back, but you knew he was right in some way or another. You were the one who set up those rules and now you're upset over it. God, the things he do to you...

"Then are you saying you want us to date? You want me to be your girlfriend, soulmate, or whatever it is you're trying to tell me!?!" You yelled, your heart hammering inside of your chest.

"YES, I DO!!"

The shouting ceased.

Suddenly, you forgot why you were mad in the first place. Both of you just stopped and looked into each other's eyes, lost in them.

There it was again. That fuzzy feeling you got whenever he did something so simple like grab your wrist or wink at you in a playful manner. Your ears had tinted red, all because of those damned words he finally admitted. And you weren't the only one.

Realizing that you weren't going to speak up, Seungmin was the first to break the deafening silence.

"...I do, okay? I want us to have a better relationship then we do now, despite being enemies before soulmates... You gonna tease me for it or what?" He pulled his gaze away to hide his embaressment.

"I..."

Any words you had prepared beforehand to argue back were gone. The situation now had become... a confession? Whatever it was, you wished to stop yourself from feeling this way. It was driving you crazy.

"Are you saying..." you muttered as if in a dream.

"We hate each other. That's been established more than once, y/n... Nonetheless, I still really enjoy your presence," he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, probably dying from embaressment.

At the moment, the world seemed so colorful to you. The sun felt so warm on your skin. Breathing has never been so easy. And for the first time ever, you didn't hope for him to leave you alone.
Instead, you wondered if he truly was the reason behind your sudden nervousness.

"You know, Seungmin, you're right. I do hate you," you confirm, the confusion evident on his face as to where this conversation was going. "I hate that God made you look so good. I hate how you're better at math and every other subject than me. I hate that when we are on different teams for debate club, you're able to stay calm the whole way through because I can't, and I end up raising my voice only to get points docked."

He listened to every word in your rant, finding it kind of adorable how you were upset over these small things that he never gave a thought about.

Even if he bragged in the daylight to you, it was just to see you scrunch your nose and bring out your defensive side that he adored so much. Not like you knew that.

"I hate that I can't tell if you care or if you ever do. I hate when you're never looking at me as I look at you 'cause you can just forgot that I'm there and I can't forget that you are. I hate how I'm always thinking about you more than I should and I'm never on your mind because you have so many better things to care about than a selfish rivalry. I hate that you somehow make even our hideous school uniforms look good. I hate so many things about you Kim Seungmin!!" You cried out for him and the rest of the world to hear. "But..."

Suddenly, you stopped, taking a deep breath to calm yourself down. Your heart was beating so fast you thought it would combust right before you could tell him what you finally decided to say after a long, long time.

"I've realized that... I really don't feel that way as much as I think I do," you admit, staring timidly at your feet.

Seungmin stepped closer towards you. His gentle grip on your chin tilted you to look up into his eyes—and oh how you gulped between the tense air.

He slowly leaned in before his lips were centimeters away from yours. One little move and they would touch, yet you felt yourself wanting it to happen.

"Y/n..." he whispered, softly. "I kept denying the possibility of what I thought I felt for you, but... now's the time I tell you that I think I like you, more than I wanted myself to."

Those few words repeated themselves in your head until you finally realized what they actually meant. Your enemy—the boy you hated and annoyed the heck out of you—was saying he loved you, in a way that wasn't just as a joke to mock you. His tone was the sincerest you've ever heard it to be.

"I still hate you," you bitterly replied, unable to let the words 'I like you' leave your mouth even if you knew that you felt it for him.

He chuckled, finding your stubbornness abosolutely humoring. And fuck did your knees weakened just from the sound of his laugh.

"I hate you too, angel," Seungmin winked while smirking before moving his face away.

You'd be a liar if you said that you didnt get disappointed by the action. A part of you was anticipating a kiss or some sort of direct contact between you two. Seems like you were wrong–

"Screw the truce you made. I'm ending it on my side, and you?"

You could tell he asked it as a rhetorical question, obviously knowing what your answer was going to be beforehand.

"Yeah... fine," you embaressingly nodded in agreement.

"Great. Come on, we're ditching school to start this new soulmate thing our own way," he grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers together swiftly.

You followed him as he began to lead you away from the campus, setting out to make even better memories. He kept his vision forward the whole time, and you couldn't help but stare at his side profile. Yeah, you definitely loved hating the man before you. Although one was fonder than the other.

Soon, a soft smile found its way to your lips.
