Chapter 11 : Loving You is a Losing Game

"CHEERS!" everyone shouts as they clink their glasses filled with juice. The students of a specific high school class were enjoying the success of their haunted house in a karaoke room they had booked. Some were shaking their maracas, some were playing with tambourines and some were just sitting around idly. The colorful lights were dancing around the room. The class president, a refined girl claps her hand in order to grab everyone's attention. The girl, who had karaoke's controller, stops the background music they were playing and everyone looks at the class president.

"Everyone congratulations! It is because of your hard work we were able to get third place in the cultural festival. It's a shame that we didn't get first place, but we had lot of fun. It would have been a lot more fun if Bakugou-kun was here", the class president says and a guy replies, "Man, he always been a sore loser. The only time I have seen him in a party was when we won first place last year. And as much as I know, he didn't even contribute at all".

"At least we have Midoriya-kun", a girl says as all the focus went on the green haired teen who was simply sipping his juice. All those attention on him made him a bit uncomfortable and he asks, "Me? I didn't do much".

"Bullshit!" almost all the boys retort and the class president says, "Language, but I strongly disagree with you, Midoriya-kun. Balancing cultural festival duties with your song practice is not an easy task. You gave time to both of them actively".

"Dude, your stalker persona was the selling point of the haunting house. You scared the shit out of people", another guy exclaims to which Izuku replies, "I believe that was the reason why we didn't win first place. People were just too scared to leave a vote for us". Everyone laugh at his banter and one girl says, "And that song you sung and the way you played your guitar was so cool. I couldn't help but feel my heart flutter".

"Be careful Akane. You are revealing what most of the girl and few guys felt that time", class president jokes and another guy says, "Prez does that mean even you were feeling that way?"

"Well I can't help but be attracted to Midoriya-kun", the class president replies with no shame and everyone including Izuku and Ochako sigh.

"Brutally honest as always. Don't change, Prez", Ochako says with a giggle but she suddenly gains a withdrawn look on her face. Izuku couldn't help but get worried. The guy came to the party and was surprised to see her already there. But he could easily see the withdrawn look the brunette held on her face. Katsuki was nowhere to be seen. While others knew half of the reason why he was not there, the green haired teen knew the whole reason. But in his mind he couldn't help but think what would have transpired between the two of them.

"By the way Midoriya, who was that girl we had seen hugging you?" one of Izuku's classmates ask to which Izuku says, "Oh! She is just a childhood friend of mine and Ochako. She can get a bit handsy but she means well".

"So there is nothing between you guys?" he asks to which Izuku replies, "If you referring in a romantic way, there is nothing between us". Ochako whispers something along the lines of 'crush' but the green haired boy doesn't catch a single word.

Few girls sigh in relief and one guy says, "Man, did you see how the girls who have an interest in Midoriya were eyeing that girl? If looks could kill, that girl would have died at least ten times".

"Those numbers are very low dude", another guy says and he continues, "Almost half of the girls in student body has a crush on Midoriya. And our Midoriya, being a dense harem protagonist he is, doesn't even realise it".

"Who said I didn't know about that?" Izuku asks with a smile which causes the girls who were in interested in him present there to blush and Ochako couldn't help but laugh at their dilemma. "You knew!?" the girls ask in shock to which Izuku with a grin replies, "My eyes see everything". "Says the guy who wears contacts", Ochako simply says while sipping her juice, which causes everyone to laugh and Izuku to gain a tick mark on his temple. "Do you guys remember the day Midoriya forgot his contact lenses?" Monoma, a classmate asks.
