Jungkook was late. He felt like absolute shit, having overslept and then forgetting to eat breakfast due to rushing out of his apartment in an attempt to make it to the library on time. Jungkook avoided others on the sidewalk, probably beginning their commutes to work.

Jungkook arrived at exactly two minutes past nine. He threw open the library door, kneeling over as he tried to catch his breath.

“Right on time.”

Jungkook looked up at Namjoon, still trying to regulate his breathing as he removed his hands from his knees. “I’m so sorry I’m late.”

“Two minutes isn’t much.” Namjoon said, shrugging lightly as he turned and began his walk towards the front desk. “Just don’t make it a habit.”

Jungkook nodded, even though he knew the other man couldn’t see him, and decided to rush forward to follow Namjoon. The older man brought Jungkook to the desk, guiding him to the chair and booting up the desktop.

“We’ll start simple. You’ll be in charge of going through overdue books. Think you can handle it?” Namjoon smiled down at the boy, a comforting hand on Jungkook’s shoulder.

After a determined nod from Jungkook, Namjoon began to walk him through the steps. He seemed to catch on very quickly, Namjoon genuinely surprised by the ease in which Jungkook remembered things.

“I’ll teach you more stuff later on. It’s a Thursday and it’s usually slow today until school ends. So, just go through those files and let me know when you’re done. I’ll be in my office if you need anything.”

Namjoon then left, disappearing through the door behind Jungkook. The day went by smoothly, Namjoon only reappearing once to use the restroom, returning straight to his office once he was done.

Jungkook went through all of the overdue book orders, sending out standard reminder emails to those with pending overdue books and fining those who were past the overdue time period.

Jungkook didn’t want to bother Namjoon once he was done, it was only a few minutes past twelve and he remembered Namjoon saying he had a lunch break at one. While Jungkook was going through the overdue files, he had noticed how unorganized the files had been on the computer. They were all together in one folder, not even sorted by year or type. Oh, and don’t even get Jungkook started on the lack of alphabetization.

So Jungkook got to work, starting all the way back in 2013 when the library was opened and beginning his quest to declutter the mess of Namjoon’s computer. He was so caught up in the work that he didn’t hear the library door open, or the two sets of footsteps coming towards the desk.

“Oh, look Jimin! It’s the new kid!”

Jungkook fumbled over the keys, shooting his head up at the new voice. Two very familiar people stood on the other side of the desk, a large heart shaped smile on the one, and bubblegum pink hair on the other. The two were wearing exercise clothes, loose tank tops hanging off their well defined forms (not that Jungkook was looking or anything, come on).

“Jungkook?” Jimin asked, genuine surprise in his voice.

“Jimin-ssi? Hoseok-ssi?” Jungkook asked, standing up out of his seat. The two older men squealed, Jimin actually hopping slightly in his place.

“You got a job!” Jimin exclaimed. “Congrats!”

“Oh, th-thanks.” Jungkook blushed brightly at the praise, tilting his head down.

The two cooed, actually cooed, at the boy in front of them. Jimin clutched his chest, smiling at Jungkook.

“Hobi-hyung, he's as cute as I remembered! Can we keep him?”
