it's not fair.
nothing is but it could be better than this.

at a job you shouldn't feel broken, bruised, bullied, targeted, taken advantage of or tortured.

here, that's how you'll feel.
it's like a real life horror film
but without the gore and gruesomeness
people metaphorically ripping your heart out
chopping your head off
or stabbing you in the gut
sounds about right.

their words and actions are like a sharp blade, a riffle, a guillotine,
anything with a deadly agenda
and a taste for tears of the innocent

a job isn't suppose to be all sunshine and roses,
dancing in an open field with so much space around you that you can spin and spin until you're so dizzy that you fall to the ground laughing,
but most of the moments should be somewhat tolerable and make you feel a bit of joy even when there are dark moments, every job or life has them

i wonder...
do the people see?
do they see the glow inside of me fading?
like a burned out light bulb that
can't figure out why it won't light up anymore.
a campfire that's dimming but you don't have anymore matches or wood to throw in
to make the flames rise

i am starting to feel like the world we live in
dark, cold, and lost.
