Rowan contently watched the flames as they crackled and spread warmth around them. The Pogues made it to Rixion's cove in no time. Escaping the clutches of the responsibilities of the higher society in a fashionable way caused excitement to buzz around them.
How they exited was a little drastic. And her father surly was without a doubt going too disown them when they returned, but it was totally and utterly worth it.

"Hey, guys. So, like, my dad's already gonna kill me." Pope started. "So what's this mandatory meeting about?"

"Might as well tell him, man, before we're gaffed." JJ says, looking towards John B.

"He's got a point, Pony Boy." Rowan sighed. Here goes nothing.

"You ready for this?" John B begins.

"Yeah."

"So, the gold never went down with the Royal Merchant."

"Oh, my God. Here we go again with this."

"Before you get dismissive, brother, you might consider hearing him out." Rowan says, she watched Pope think about it before he sighed and gave in.

"Proceed."

"Thank you. The gold. It's been here the whole time." John B says. "On the island."

"Are you serious?" Kie asks, "oh my, God."

"I'd like to voice my skepticism." Pope put in

"I'm sure you would, Pope. But can I please present to with my evidence, sir?" John B said, standing up.

"You may."

"All right. So, in my backpack, I have a letter from Denmark Tanny." He said, pulling out the papers.

"Who the hell's that?" Kie asked

"Denmark Tanny was a slave that survived the Royal Merchant wreck. Check this out." He handed the papers to Kiara.

"What?"

"Okay, so, slaves weren't mentioned as crew members on the ship, but my dad, he found the complete manifest. That was his big discovery. So Tanny used the gold from the Merchant to buy his freedom. After that, he bought his farm."

Rowan grabbed the paper from Kie after she handed it to her. She then passed it over to Pope. Who looked it over carefully.

"Drumroll, please, because that farm is.....Tannyhill Plantation."

"Tannyhill?" Kie asked, in disbelief.

"Yeah. So, after that, he used his money to free even more slaves. And then he sold a shit-ton of rice, which pisses off all the white planters, and then they decide to lynch him. So in the day they were coming to get him, he writes a letter to his son as a farewell, and in the last line of that letter, he leaves a coded message about where to find the gold."

"Where?"

""Harvest the wheat in parcel nine, near the water." John B says. "Except, there is no wheat. You see, wheat is code for gold." He says, walking over to Pope who holds the letter. "Check this out. The gold is in parcel nine, near the water."

"Holy shit." Pope mutters

"All we need is an original survey map of the property, and we've found the gold."

"Okay, so this might have a small chance of being actually true."

"Not small, Francis." Rowan says, shaking her head.

"Dude, it's like King Tut." Kie marvels in complete awe.

"I am a genius." John B laughed. "Hey, whoa!" He moves slightly as JJ comes up and gives him a big hug. He lifts him up in the air.
