She ate fast though, not even a minute and the burrito was gone.
Everyone else in the area looked at her leave the place with fear, even when the cafeteria was out in the open, and the sky was clear of any cloud, it felt like a storm followed her around, making everyone else feel pressured and afraid.
Me: Well, there you have it. She is not the nicest person, but she is definitely not a criminal.
Seraphine: So, are you just going to let her do something like that, everyone will?
Me: Look I already have a broken arm, I don't want to end up connected to a machine in the hospital to keep breathing. Don't mess with her. She is a prideful woman with enough power to back it up, but she is not a criminal or a tyrant of some sort.
Seraphine: Then what is she?
Me: It's hard to say for certain, she won't do anything unless you make her mad. She acts like she owns the place, and in certain ways she does. But she won't be a threat to anyone normally, actually, she is really respectful to the teachers and any authority in this campus.
Seraphine: If that's so, why is everyone so afraid of her?
Me: I said she won't do anything unless you make her mad, remember? Don't insult her, don't defy her, don't do anything that could bother her in the slightest if you want to keep walking. The last guy that tried to stand up to her was a very well known "bully" in the campus, it was the last semester. The guy had the ability to create explosions with his sweat or something, he was strong, but Shyvana... *sigh* he picked a fight with her, something about "becoming the new alfa in the campus" or some stupid thing like that... he ended up paralytic from the waist below.
Seraphine: What? How did the campus allow something like that?
Me: Are you aware of how confrontations work in this ridiculous society?
Seraphine: Well, yeah. If you are attacked by someone using their ability, you are in your right to fight back to defend yourself until the authorities arrive and-
Me: The strong rules, simple. If you are strong enough to deal with the situation, you can get away with a lot of things. If someone tries to attack you and you absolutely trash that person, well, they were looking for a fight, it's their fault. As long as you don't straight up murder someone, you will probably be fine in the eyes of the authorities. Here in the campus is relatively similar.
Seraphine: But... that's just too unfair.
Me: Yeah, it is, but it's not like the authorities of the campus can do much about it. There are students that could simply outmatch a security member. We are lucky that Shyvana is respectful to authorities, so she doesn't do anything without being provoked, still, she sometimes does things like what she just did. She knows no one in this campus can actually pose a threat to her, and she seems no problem in using this status in her favor as much as possible, but she will never do something straight up criminal. Don't know if that makes sense.
Seraphine: So, she can do whatever she wants with everyone, just like that?
Me: She could and she does, and yet she doesn't at the same time. Still we fear her, and rightfully so. Don't mess with her, whatever she does to you won't go beyond you being mildly inconvenienced. At least in my experience it is, just look at what happened now, she took my food, but she gave me the money it was worth for. I can go to the counter and order the same thing again, I just waited a little longer for my food in the end.
Seraphine: *sigh* I guess, I guess I'll just keep that in mind from now on.
Me: Good, now going back to our original topic, I know someone who could repair your laptop really fast.
