Kyle left Abigail and Elliot alone for almost nine months. He only showed his face to deliver meals and to connect the bedroom and bathroom together with a door. Elliot grew bigger, becoming more anxious for the delivery while knowing absolutely nothing about her pregnancy. Kyle disregarded bringing Elliot to a doctor the entirety of her pregnancy, believing "no good could come from that", leaving everyone on edge.

Abigail and Elliot were sitting on the bed together when Kyle barged in empty handed for the first time in months. Abigail jumped, quickly jerking her hand away from Elliot's stomach to feel the baby kicking.

"Elliot, I came to discuss the baby name I had decided," Kyle forced a smile across his lips, looking mildly irritated. "We're naming him Garrett Lee, after my father."

"Fuck no!" Elliot tried to sit up on the bed as quickly as she could, Abigail having to help. "I don't know how many times I have to say this to get it through your thick skull, but this is not your baby!"

"That is my goddamn baby, and his name will be Garrett!" Kyle grew more angry, clenching his fists at his side.

"It's my baby because I'm pushing it out of my vagina!" Elliot looked back at Abigail, narrowing her eyebrows. "Isn't that right?"

"I—I think you both just need to calm down," Abigail cleared her throat, scratching the back of her head. "You're obviously very hormonal."

Elliot huffed loudly, pushing herself to her feet off the bed to approach Kyle. "You did nothing for me nor this baby! I hope to God this baby looks nothing like you! It won't act like you at all! You're going to be a more awful father than you are a person!"

Kyle's face grew more red, his eyes turning bloodshot. He raised his hand and smacked Elliot across the face as hard as he could, sending her stumbling back against the floor. Abigail raced to Elliot's side to help her back to her feet, tears burning in her eyes.

"Come on, I need to teach you a goddamn lesson." Kyle grabbed Elliot's wrist, beginning to drag her from the bedroom. Abigail grabbed Elliot's other wrist, pulling her the opposite direction.

"Don't you dare hurt her," Abigail demanded, her feet sliding across the floor as her attempt against Kyle was failing. "She's pregnant with that baby of yours."

"Don't worry, I won't go below the face," Kyle winked as he kicked Abigail in the stomach to release her grip from Elliot, slamming the door in her face.

Abigail pounded her fist on the door, yelling on the top of her lungs for Kyle to return. She could hear Elliot on the other side of the door yelling too, yet Kyle wouldn't listen to either of them.

Elliot didn't return for three hours, her bloodcurdling screams filled the house. Abigail was crying in the corner of the bedroom when she heard the doorknob unlock, the door slowly beginning to open. Noah stood in the hallway, tears glistening in his eyes. He held Elliot unconscious in his arms, bandages covering her eyes.

"I—I'm so sorry," Noah sputtered, trying his hardest to choke back a sob. "I tried—tried so hard to make Kyle not do this b—but he wouldn't listen."

"What did he do?" Abigail whispered, uneasily rising to her feet.

"He—He hired this guy a—and he wanted me to bring h—her up because he knew y—you wouldn't hurt me." Noah was trembling, holding Elliot close to his body.

He brought Elliot to the bed, gently resting her down on the mattress before looking over at Abigail. "I'm so sorry, I—I'll never forgive myself for—for letting him take me in." Noah left the bedroom, keeping the door unlocked behind him.

Abigail stepped closer to Elliot, her hands quivering as she pushed the bandage down from Elliot's eyes. Her eyelids were closed, and as Abigail pushed them open she realized there was nothing inside.

Kyle had removed Elliot's eyes.

Abigail choked on her breath, cupping her hand over her mouth as she felt her lunch beginning to come up. She stumbled to the bathroom and hunched over the toilet, sobbing as she vomited up her turkey sandwich.

She glanced back to the bedroom, the bandage sticking to the bridge of Elliot's nose. Abigail approached the bed once more, sniffling as she pressed her hand against Elliot's stomach. Minutes passed before she felt the baby kick once more, filling her heart with a small bit of hope. Abigail pressed her cheek against Elliot's cloth covered stomach, crying herself to sleep.
