HE COMES ALIVE IN MIDNIGHT

Start from the beginning

"Morning!"

She relooked at me.

"Why you look so lost?"

"Are you still thinking about yesterday?"

I nodded no.

"Then what?"

I decided to tell her about my dream. I told her the whole dream- the first time I got in my house and the second time.

Jennie came closer.

"I'm sorry for how you feel these days"

"Don't worry..it's just a dream"

"It's not the reality"

"You're safe"

"I'm here for you"

"Me and Kate"

She leaned on my shoulder and told that everything will be alright soon.

I sighed and felt relieved that I at least told her what was in my head.

"I brought up your brekky"

"You can get a fresh up and have it"

I mocked her.

"Hey Jen!"

"I'm totally okay"

"You don't have to bring my breakfast here"

"After all, I ain't a patient"

I chuckled.

She patted me and chuckled.

"Oooooooo"

"I thought you were such lazy goose as you turned out to wake up in the noon"

"And end up having your breakfast at lunchtime"

"Brunchh"

Jennie stood up making up the mess on the bed.

"I'll be waiting for you downstairs"

"Clean up yourself and come down lazy goose!"

I got up and went to the bathroom. I took a bath as usual.

I checked on my scars. There were five more excluding the old ones. Two on my thighs, on my left arm, another one on my waist on the right side and on my neck deep my collars.

I sighed seeing those scars.

"How many scars are left to turn me out?"

I was damn sure that it must be Grace's artwork on my body.

"What does she want from me?"

"Me?"

I muttered.

She wants me?

Should I die so that she could get me?

I washed off my body. I wrapped me in a towel and got off the bathroom.

A black hoodie and a track were placed on the bed for me. I smiled. I took those and went near the mirror. I overlooked the scars. I was worried seeing my body having scars here and there.

I shoved in my clothes and sat beside the desk. I had my breakfast and took the tray downstairs.

I placed the tray in the kitchen.

"Hey Kate!"

I waved my hand to Katie sitting on the couch watching TV.

"HEY THERE!"

"Good noon!"

I chuckled.

"I'm not a morning person Kate and you know it!"

Jennie changed her position to my side.

"Exactly!"

We were laughing for a while, talking about some "entertainment" stuffs.

"Hey, where's Doris?"

"She's out for groceries"

I nodded.

I sat on the couch beside Katie. Jennie was resting on the rocking chair.

Something popped in my mind, I ought to ask Katie.

"Kate.."

"Are you feeling good?"

"I mean, don't you feel anything strange?"

She looked and smiled at me.

"I don't know"

"Maybe I don't care except the fact that Carol died"

I sighed and turned back to TV. She held her arms around my shoulder.

"I know what you're going through.."

"Don't worry..we're here for you"

She said and patted me. I wondered if I was the only one experiencing all those things.

I thought it was time to go home. I got up.

"Jen, I'm going ho.."

She stopped me in middle.

"You're not going anywhere"

"You're gonna stay with me 'til you get good"

"And that's all"

"I don't care what you're gonna say"

I stared at her.

"Staring can't make me scared, watch TV"

Jennie said and turned back to the remote.

I sat down realizing that I need and want someone throughout the terrific times.
