venti • {the soldier and the poet}

A/N- Somebody else had and idea like this to put 'Soldier, Poet, King' into a Venti oneshot although I cant find their user :( just so you know this is not my original idea to add this song into a Venti oneshot :D

[Y/N POV]

I ran through Mondstadt trying to find Venti, he promised we could spend the day together before he left the house this morning.

I took a break while I was out of breath panting.

Once I took a breather I walked to where he was. Standing playing his lyre and singing a story at his statue near the church, where he would normally play. I stood in the crowd watching his twin braids sway in the wind. making me smile as I thought about how beautiful he looked. 

When he opened his eyes they darted around the crowd for a moment before he laid his eyes on me. Everyone clapped for him as he said his goodbyes and the crowd disappeared like ash in the wind. (Im looking back on this and- what was that whole metaphor?? Like what?) 

"Windblume!" (The nickname- ahejdhxyjdjdhdhd)  the short boy ran up to me making his lyre also dissipate into thin air.

"Venti! I was looking everywhere for you!"

"Sorry! I got a little carried away with playing my lyre ehe. I got a good amount of mora from playing today though" he said.

"Im going to take a wild guess and say you're going to spend it on wine huh?" I chuckled quietly.

"Well, yeah probably" he let out a little laugh as he prolonged the 'well'

"Pfft- anyway, where do you want to go today?"

"Hmm, Ah! Follow me!" He said in his cheerful tone as he began running away.

"HEY! WAIT UP!" I shouted trying to catch up to him.

Damn he's fast

I was losing my breath trying to get to him. I had stopped to look for him as I spotted him at the bottom of the Windrise tree.

I walked over to the boy.

"Why— and how— are you so fast— your like 2000 years old wtf" I said pausing to take a breath in between words

"I dunno" he shrugged

"Come, take a seat" he smiled and patted the ground next to him

"Thanks" I said before sitting on the grass

"I wrote a little something, do you want to hear it?" He asked taking his lyre out yet again

"I'd love to"

Venti began to strum the strings on his lyre before he sang

there will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword..

They will tear your city down..

there will come a poet whose weapon is his word..

After he came to a stop he began speaking again

"Thats it! Im still working on it but thats what I have for now"

"it's wonderful!!! I love it!!"

"Thank you windblume, I'm glad you like it" he smiled.

I wanted him to play it again but I didn't want to ask

"Do you wish for me to play it again?"

"Please!" I piped up

"Your wish is my command" he laughed before starting again

"Ooh! I have an idea for the next line!"

His happiness made me smile brightly, maybe too brightly because I was smiling like an idiot (honestly same y/n lmfao)

He shut his eyes as he began again.

There will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword..

I swayed side to side as he continued to sing while I listened contently

This was the best way to spend my day, a song and Venti. The most special person in the world, sitting right here in front of me.

[Edit- 9/9/21] I was at school for an hour two days ago because it's a day for class schedules and stuff kinda boring ngl. full day today, kinda bored. I wanna sleep so bad oml-
