Dinner was going so well, Dante was such a good actor. Laughing with my family well mostly my mom, as if everything was fine
"Are you okay dear? You have been quite and you have barely touched your food" My mother asked with concern
"Yeah, What's wrong baby?" Dante asked as he ran his hand up my tigh
I believe that was his way of warning me to behave myself
I half-smiled, nodding as I took a bite of my steak
"Avila, you are so secretive, when were you planning on telling me that us that you were dating?" My mother asked with a bright smile
"Mom, David and I are not that ser-"
"What she means to say is, we are taking things slow" Dante said
My mother smiled widely, "That's great honey, it is about time you settle down and start thinking family planning,
Maybe change you career. You in a dangerous field for a woman who is about to settle down, all those people you send to prison might come after your family" my mother said
I rolled my eyes, placing my fork down. "Mom, I'm not ready for a child or marriage. And I got fired FYI" I said sighing
My mother's eyes went wide, "Oh honey, I'm sorry. What happened?" You could see the worry in her eyes
My mother never approved of my job but, that didn't stop her from supporting me
I sighed, "I rather not talk about it mom" I said with a tight smile
My mother smiled back with sad eyes, I knew she hates seeing me sad
Dante cleared his throat, "I think it's time for dessert" he said
The moment he said that, the helpers came out of nowhere and began place a plate of chocolate pudding infront of us
"You know I remember when Avila was only sixteen-"
I groaned, "No mother, no one wants to hear that" I said causing my mother to laugh
"I want to hear it" Dante said smirking, I swear this man always want a to embarrass me
"Well Avila had a crush on this boy, so one day on their camping trip Avila accidentally sat on some chocolate pudding and when she stood up the boy thought she had pooped herself" My mother said laughing
Oh gosh, it was not that funny. "Mom!" I said, she told everyone that story gosh
Dante chuckled, "Who knew my baby was a clumsy one" Dante said
"Aww, They are so cute. Right dad?" My mom asked my grandpa
Grandpa hummed, "I just don't think you are right for my vila, You are too old for her" he said
"Dad!!" My mother gasp
"I don't like you David, I have seen my fare share of man like you, vila I don't think you should be with such a man" my grandpa said
I was shook, I could see Dante's jaw clenched from the corner of my eye
"Uhm, David please forgive my father, I think it's time we leave" My mother said standing up
"Mom, no..wait, you can't leave. We can talk about this" I really did not want them to go
Dante stood up, "I think it's time you leave, Gary will show you out" Dante said
And just like that Dinner was ruined, "David please seat down and let's talk about it okay, grandpa please" I tried reasoning with both man
"No, If he wants us to leave then we'll go and I'll take my granddaughter with me" my grandpa said
Well I wouldn't mind that I thought to myself, But I felt someone drilling holes into me with his eyes
I looked at him, "uhm, why don't you sit down and I'll go talk to David" I said
My grandpa hesitantly sat down with the help of my mother
I stood up and took Dante's hand and left the room
Once we were far from everyone, I turned and faced Dante. "Are you insane, that is not the way to talk to my family" I said to Dante
"I don't care Avila, that old man is in my house. Which means he needs to speak to me with respect and don't think I don't see you trying to leave with them, you are going nowhere I own you" he said firmly
I frowned, "Excuse me! We had a deal, you would let me go once I did what I asked you to do" I said furiously
He chuckled, "And did you do what you were supposed to do?" He asked, he seriously thought this was funny
I groaned, placing my hand on my forehead to calm myself down
I felt Dante snake his arms around my waist, I was startled. I looked up and his face was right next to mine
"Stay with me Avila, I can change your life" he said as his eyes burned into my soul
"I-I..."
"Susshh" he placed his finger on my lips, "Just stay and you don't have to explain yourself" he said
It was like I was hippnotisided by his eyes, his beauty and his voice
"And if I stay what do I get out of this?" I asked him
"I can make you my Regina"
