It had been a few days since Santino and I kissed, it's still a fresh memory in my head
I was currently sitting in the boardroom, the chief had called a meeting. Our Chief was Officer Warren
He made the major decisions and he is Santino's Senior
So hearing that he had called a Meeting is freaking me out, I knew I was in trouble for messing up a mission
This was my first fail in history, I was disappointed within myself. It took me many years to get here I can't be messing up a simple mission as that one
Suddenly the door opened, I turned my head where I was seated and in came Santino and Officer Warren
I stood up and they walked towards me, "Goodmorning Ms paiz" officer Warren said shaking my hand with a tight smile plastered on his face
"Goodmorning sir" I said smiling back, he let go of my hand and went across the table and sat down
"Please take a sit Ms Paiz" he said opening up a file
I felt my hands begin to sweat, I sat down next to Santino. Once I was seated I felt a hand squeezing my tigh
I looked over at Santino and he gave me a reassuring smile
I turned my head back to officer Warren, "Ms Paiz, I figured you already know why I'm here?" He asked bluntly looking at him
I straightened my back in my sit, "Yes Sir, I would like to ap-"
Before I could finish, he held his hand in the air to silence me. "I don't want to hear it Ms Paiz. I won't sit here and lie, I'm extremely disappointed in you"
Those were the words I feared the most, I felt my shoulders falling
"I am no fool Ms Paiz and Santino, I see right through you two. I do not appreciate this little relationship going on between the two of you, One it cost us a mission and thank the heavens because a innocent life would have been taken because of your foolishness!"
He said the last part with a roaring voice as he slammed his hands on the table
He pushed his chair back and stood up, "This" he said pointing all around the room
"Is a work place, not some stupid cupid's office, we are officers of the law. We save lives and that should be taken seriously!"
"Sir I can explain-" Santino spoke, officer Warren gave him a death glance
"You better keep your mouth Shut Santino because I'm not done with you"
Then there was silence in the room, my heart was slowly sinking into my stomach, What would grandpa say
"Now I have decided that it is best I suspend Ms Paiz from her cases" Warren said calmly with his face forward
My heart had skipped, I quickly stood up. "What ! You can not do that Warren" I said raising my voice at him
"Firstly I can do as I please and I'm doing what is good for the company and secondly I go by sir to you" I could see veins pop up on his forehead
I was fuming, I clenched my hand tightly. "After all I have done for this Company, is this how you repay me huh?"
"Oh please Avila enough of the drama queen act, accept defeat" said the bimbo who makes me ears itch
"What does she want here Santino?" I asked him, I could see the sweat form on his forehead
"I'll answer for you Santino, Ms Liza will be taking over from you" Warren said
What in the hell, "Oh you must have me f- You know what fine! If you want this dumb blondie to take over the case so be it. I quit"
Without any word I took my bag and stormed out the room
If only I could grabbed her, I swear I would deflate those balloons on her chest
"Avila..Avila!!"
I kept on walking like I heard nothing, suddenly he grabbed my uninjured arm turning me around
"You seriously need to stop-" I cut him off.
"No! You need to stop running after me like a lost puppy I can face my own problems Santino" I said pointing my finger at him
He looked at me then began rubbing his chin, he chuckled
"Fine then Avila, I'm done chasing you. If you wanna go, go then. You were never my type anyway"
And that's all he had to say, to end whatever was happening between him and I
