~Helen Keller✨

56) People who were born blind have no understanding of how to see in their waking lives, so they can't see in their dreams. (they usually come across shadows in their dreams.)
But most blind people lose their sight later in life and can dream visually.

57) Blindness is not being in the dark
Sighted people tend to think that closing their eyes can offer a glimpse into what blind people see. That, however, is far from reality. There are different types of sight loss because of the various causes of blindness.

59) Blind people also have to deal with frequent nightmares. It's estimated that the blind have up to 4x as many nightmares as those who can see clearly.
🥺

60) When a person is born blind, they needn't worry about developing schizophrenia. Not a single case of schizophrenia in a person who was blind since birth has ever been recorded. That said, these individuals are at risk for autism spectrum disorders, meaning we should watch for autistic tendencies in our blind loved ones.
