I was awake at 3 in the morning with my sister watching a movie when my phone dinged. I looked at the phone it was a text from Nils

Him: Hey, you awake.

*unsends it*

Me: Hey, I'm here

Him: what are you doing up so late?

Me: Just watching a movie

Him: Hm

Me:Srsly a hm?

Him: Have you ever had your heart broken?

Me: (Blown out of my senses) Uh.. yes but why are WE having this conversation?

Him: Uh I don't know man, I mean you are just a person I met online, I don't know.

I'm sorry to have disturbed you, you can go ahead and watch the movie

Me: You messaged me because you wanted to talk about something. I guess maybe because I don't know you yet you felt like you could talk to me and get a new perspective, a new set of eyes?

Him: So much insight how?

Me: It's just smtg I can do.

Him: Yeah..

Me: Go ahead, this is a stupid sentence but you can trust me

Him: Can I though?

Me: Guess you'll have to find out

Him: So who broke your heart?

An ex?

Me: Yeah, he broke it real bad. :)

Him: I never had my heart broken.

Me: Well that's both good and bad I guess.

You didn't have to experience that kind of pain but you didn't feel something that wonderful to feel that kind of pain too

Him: How old are you?

Me: I am not telling you. Feel free to assume.

Him: By the way you just talked, imma assume you to be 19.

Me: Happy Assuming. (Oh he has no idea)

Him: I do wanna feel the pain

Me: Then you'll have to let someone in and not be single

Him: How many times have you not been single?

Me: 6

Him: How many hearts have YOU broken?

Me: I think let me count

Him: woah count?

Me: At least 21

Him: I thought you were the sweet girl who is the best and most hilarious friend you can have

Me: Nah ah honey, I'm a heartbreaker

Him: Damn

Me: hahaha, guess you'll have to be careful

Him: idts but consider me warned ;)

Me: Are you feeling better now?

Him: A little yes

funny how you figured that out

Me: I told you it's just something I can do

Him: hm, goodbye Dhruvi [or y/n] (I'll never learn how to pronounce that)

Me: Bye Nils (Even I can't pronounce your surname)

I kept the phone aside and concentrated back on the movie. At least I tried to. I don't think so, I took that as a challenge. I smiled, my competitive side, calm down. Maybe I was falling or maybe I wanted something I could never have. The coin of being friends had been flipped for me and it landed on falling for him.
