Jac POV
I walk into the huge town hall with my beautiful niece Maeve and my mother and sister behind me, I look around and I hate it, I hate these get togethers, I hate so many people, I know I have to deal with lots of people every day but it's different it's doing something I love and this I don't love.
Maeve: Auntie Jac.
I look down at my beautiful niece and she is looking forward, I turn to see who she's looking at and I see Phoenix walking towards us, he is smiling so big and he looks like a god in his suit.
Phoenix: Hey.
Jacqueline: Hi.
Maeve: Hi!
I look down at Maeve and laugh.
Jacqueline: Phoenix this is Maeve my niece, Maeve this is auntie Jac work friend his name is Phoenix.
He bends down and holds his hand out.
Phoenix: Nice to meet you Maeve, how old are you?
Maeve: It's rude to ask a girls age.
She gives him a cheeky smirk and I laugh and Phoenix joins in.
Phoenix: Very true Maeve.
Maeve: I'm 5.
Phoenix: Wow! You're a big girl.
Maeve: Yep!
She smiles so big and I bend down to her.
Jacqueline: Monkey go find daddy.
Maeve: Okay.
Myla: I will go with her.
Jacqueline: Thanks sis.
Clara: I will go and find your father sweet girl.
My mum smiles and walks off, I look at Phoenix and he is smiling at me.
Phoenix: She's a beautiful little girl.
Jacqueline: Thank you!
Phoenix: Your brother and his partner and your family have done an amazing job.
Jacqueline: Just my brother and us family.
Phoenix: Oh.
Jacqueline: Clayton has been raising her since she was born.
Phoenix: I can sympathise.
I look at him strangely.
Phoenix: My daughter I told you about, I've been raising her also since she was born.
Jacqueline: Oh.
He laughs.
Phoenix: Luna told me you thought I had a partner and I don't, my daughter Desire is 17 and I've been looking after her since she was born, her mother Samantha just left her in the hospital room a few hours after giving birth.
My eyes fill with tears.
Jacqueline: I'm so sorry to hear that.
Phoenix: It's okay, I got an amazing daughter out of it all.
I smile at him.
Jacqueline: Thank you for telling me a bit about yourself.
