"i noticed that you have a lot of songs by drake in here." yoonji says as she scrolls through my phone which made me nod before laughing cuz i just get all excited when it comes to talking about the things or the people that i love or admire.
"i really love drake!! i'm a huge fan of hiphop ever since i was young ... i like how swag and awesome he moves as well." i said as yoonji just went in awe before nodding.
"i'm not really familiar with his whole discography but i do know some songs by him." she says as let out a hum.
"well ... he is pretty famous." i said as she nods before pointing something out from all the songs that i have downloaded on my phone.
"i'm seeing a lot of kpop too, how did you discover it by the way?" she asked as i just stared at her while thinking of the answer.
"well i wasn't familiar with kpop at all until i saw bts perform in america." i answered as she stops scrolling before facing me.
"woah that's so cool!! does that mean that bts opened the door for you into kpop?" she asked as i nodded.
"you have all of my favourite bts songs here." she says before smiling which made me smile back.
"what about you yoonji? how'd you discover kpop?" i asked out of curiosity as she hands me back my phone and then let out a hum.
"i didn't discover it since my older sister has always been a huge kpop fan ever since the both of us were still kids."
"i practically grew up with kpop and there were tons of times when my love for it was on and off but right now i'm still pretty into kpop." she says as my brows furrowed out of confusion.
"how was the reason why i discovered kpop cool when you literally grew up with kpop? that's way cooler." i said as she shook her head no.
"because you really took a different route after being into hip hop and drake?? other than ikon, i don't know any kpop groups that are hip-hop based soooo yeah."
"ohhhh yeah okay you're right." i said as she laughs.
"what are your favourite songs by drake by the way?" she asked as i couldn't help but smirk.
"do you want to check out drake's discography all because of me? awww that's so cute." i teased as she looks at me with a disgusted look.
"dude no it's cuz i've always been curious about this guy's discography and why he's so famous but i never really got the chance to do that until now." she says before frowning as she takes out her phone.
"yeah you're so handsome and all but dang you have got to stop getting ahead of yourself sometimes." she says as she goes back to her phone.
"wait, you think i'm handsome?" i couldn't help but ask which just made her stare at me before laughing.
"are you seriously asking me that? have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? you're literally gorgeous." she compliments me as i shrugged.
"i've already gotten used to these compliments about my appearance but how come it feels different when you're the one that's telling me this by the way?" i asked in a flirty tone which just made her hit my arm playfully.
not the kind of reaction that i expected to be honest.
"why are you asking me about your feelings? how should i even know any of that?" she asked which made me mentally give myself a facepalm.
why did she take that question literally?
"you want to check out my downloaded songs too right?" she asked as i nodded and smiled which made her hand her phone to me.
oh wow there are a lot of variations here.
i can already tell that she loves a lot of kpop groups too because i have no idea who most of these kpop groups are.
"decapitation? pray? deathtiny? are you into aggressive khiphop? i think they're pretty cool and all but they seem too aggressive and explicit that it's not really that pleasing to the ears anymore and i don't know when i'm even going to play songs like them??" i said which made her look at me with her widened eyes.
why is she looking at me like that-
"it's alright, i don't really know anyone that's a huge huge fan of aggressive khiphop other than me at the moment but i promise you that it's great to listen to when you're making sure to do your homework fast or when you're in the mood to hate on basically anything or anyone." she says as i just nodded and went in awe.
"i guess we're not that similar when it comes to our music tastes then?" i asked as she nodded before standing up.
"do you have a dog?" she asked as i nodded and couldn't help but start giggling just by the thought of layla which made her look at me weirdly.
"her name's layla, she's a cream border collie and i love love her so muchhh she's so cute and she loves meat like me so i would make sure to share my food with her and she would always listen to me when i tell her to wait before eating her food which is soooo cute and- oh i'm sorry for getting too hyped up because of layla." i said before pursing my lips together.
"what about you? do you have a dog?" i asked because i'm assuming that she does since she asked me that question first.
"actually yeah i do, his name is charlie but i usually call him chowlie because he loves to chow as in eat and then lie as in lie and i hate him so much." she says which just made me look at her before she starts laughing.
"i'm kidding i don't hate him, it's just that i'm more into cats but i can't get myself a cat because i'm too lazy to take care of basically any pet." she says as i went in awe.
"by the way, how come i'd always have to compete with dogs?"
"what?" i asked as she scoffs before gesturing me to stand up as well.
"i used to like this one guy who was definitely way out of my league that loved his dog named bbangddaeng and she's literally so annoying and greedy when it comes to him and everytime i see him with that dog i lose my shit and up til now i'm still a hater of her." she says all of the sudden which just made me laugh.
"a girl hating on a dog whose name is "acts silly", you're definitely not someone i'd get to meet with everyday." i said as she laughs and then gestures for me to hand her phone back to her.
"have you been to cafés before? i've only been hearing you talk about clubs and bars but i've never heard you talk about coffee or teas before." she says as i let out a hum before nodding.
"do you like sweet stuff?" she asked as i nodded and smiled.
"let's go to that cute café that i know, my treat." she says as i just nodded and followed her.
