MAN, BROOKE knows the truth, I thought.
⠀We decided to meet up tomorrow at a local bakery after Brooke had dance practice. My parents probably wouldn't mind, I'd be surprised if they even know half of the things I have done in my life.

⠀I walked into the bakery as the door's bells jingled. I took a seat next to the main window watching the sunset. It was gorgeous tonight, a golden horizon with subtle pink highlights.
⠀The chair I sat in was hard and wooden. There was no seat cushion or backing to the chair. With a heavy sigh, I looked around the bakery and at the time. Brooke was nowhere to be seen. I decided to go, it was getting late. I was so close to making a friend who actually understood me, but our friendship faded faster than a heart beat.
⠀I opened the door and stepped out of the stop. Once the door closed on its own, you could no longer smell the mouth-watering aroma. I sighed again as I kicked a pile of dry auburn leaves.
⠀"Hey, Chlo," I heard a voice say. I ignored it thinking it was my mind saying those words in Brooke's voice. "Lil' buddy!" I turned around. There stood the ironic Brooke. So maybe she didn't bail on me.
