You Help Me, I'll Help You Pt. 1

Hi guys! Before you read this chapter I have some things to say/warn you about. So first of all, I've never done a chapter or fanfic on the Hermitcraft server so the likelihood of the characters acting how they normally would is very slim so I apologise for that in advance. Another thing I want to add is that this is my own au, feel free to ask questions that you have about it, I'm more than happy to answer them!

(Just so you all know, in my au Grian is only 18. Sorry if that bothers any of you!)

I decided to try a slightly different writing style for this chapter, I hope its still just as enjoyable! (This chapter is focused mainly on Grian and Mumbo!)

5 times Mumbo helped Grian out + 1 time Grian helped him.

Grian was a very dedicated builder, that was a very well known fact to the young builder's friends. However, there were times when Grian would get so engrossed in building that he would forget to allow himself time to sleep and/or eat.

Due to how often this happened, Mumbo had made a habit of checking on the younger male from time to time. Having not heard from the young prankster in a while, he decided to stop by his house to make sure he was okay.

It didn't take Mumbo long to reach his own base thanks to his elytra. Once he got into his hobbit hole, he took a minecart from the chest that was put next to the track that connected their bases together. He put the cart on the tracks and got in before setting it off down the track.

When he got to Grian's base, he quickly scanned the hall. None of the lights were on, but knowing Grian he'd probably forgotten to turn them on. Mumbo stayed quiet as he listened for any sounds, he picked up on the sound of building and let a knowing smile fall across his face. 

He walked down the hall and found the room that the noise was coming from and quietly opened the door. The first thing he noticed upon entering the room was the massive amount of shulker boxes that were littered around the room, in the middle of the shulkers was Grian.

The young builder didn't notice Mumbo's entrance and instead stayed focused on looking through he horrendously organised boxes. Seeing that Grian hadn't realised he was there, Mumbo made his way over to his friend and tapped him on the shoulder, his reaction was instant and he jumped away.

"Woah woah, calm down! It's just me." Mumbo soothed, Grian's attention focused on Mumbo and his body relaxed the moment he realised who it was, "Oh, hey Mumbo!" he greeted. 

It didn't take much looking to see the dark bags under the builder's eyes, his posture also gave away his exhaustion. Mumbo sighed fondly.

"Grian, when was the last time you slept?" he asked, said boy seemed to think for a moment before giving a simple shrug, this made Mumbo frown slightly. He walked closer to his younger friend and pulled him into a hug, he felt the younger male freeze at the sudden embrace however he quickly melted into it.

"Let's get you to bed so you can sleep." Mumbo said, upon hearing this, Grian attempted to break free from the redstoner's grip. "Mumbo 'm fine! Don't need sleep!" he complained, it had little affect on Mumbo.

"Grian, you can work on this later, you're tired." he stated, Grian shook his head, "Not tired... need to finish it..." the dirty blonde haired male protested, his voice was barely over a mumble. Mumbo chucked fondly as he scooped the younger Hermit into his arms, Grian huffed dramatically in defeat and let his head fall against his friend's shoulder. 

The two Hermits soon reached Grian's bedroom where Mumbo placed him on the soft fabric, he was about to leave but was stopped by a quiet voice, "Please don't leave..." he heard Grian mumble, he paused for a moment as he processed his friend's words before smiling fondly. He turned back towards the bed and made his way back to the younger male's side. 

When Mumbo didn't lie down, Grian made a noise of annoyance before grabbing onto the front of his shirt. He pulled the taller Hermit down next to him on the bed and smirked in triumph. 

Upon realising that he wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon, Mumbo rolled onto his side so he was facing his friend and pulled him into a tight hug. Grian tensed for a moment before snuggling up against his chest (not a ship, its just brotherly love!). 

It didn't take long for Grian to fall asleep against Mumbo, the older male simply brushed a hand through his hair as he slept. He soon found himself falling asleep himself.
