chapter 98 ~ 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚

Start from the beginning

        "Change your clothes," he ordered.

        "No."

        "Yumin."

"Yura." I didn't care what tone I pulled with him, but I refused to change out of the one thing I had left from the others. It felt as if I were still there if I closed my eyes and breathed in the scent of Taehyung's shirt. Blinking up at my ex-fiancé, I found him rubbing the space between his brow with both eyes screwed shut in annoyance. We'd been apart for an entire year now and I just knew he was already fed up with my presence.

"Fine! Don't change. Do whatever, just...fucking go to sleep."

I let out a heavy breath and turned away from the brunet, feeling the mattress dip behind me as he situated himself to fall asleep. In no way would I be comfortable sleeping next to Yura again, but with the door shut and locked and me not being able to leave his sight, there didn't seem to be another choice. Hesitantly, I rolled the covers from beneath my rear and slipped my legs beneath them, sitting up against the headboard and letting my eyes fall shut.

"If you need something, wake me. Don't try and get it by yourself."

I grunted in acknowledgment and slid further down the bed to try and get comfortable. Eventually, I turned my back to him, but I felt his arms snake around my waist and pull me against him. A shudder ripped through my body and I knew he felt it by the way his arm tightened around me. It felt almost nauseating to be in such a position; I'd grown used to the safety of the other's arms, but now, after such an eventful day, I had been thrown right back down the rabbit hole I'd struggled for years to crawl out of.

       "Goodnight, princess."

I didn't respond. My hand tightened around the bedsheets as I brought them up to my chest, trying so hard to find comfort in the situation but failing to bring any to light. All I could picture was the damaging memories of my relationship with Yura and the sickening look on Jungkook's face as my name dripped off of his tongue in a pathetic plea. Tears brimmed in the corners of my eyes as the sound of his voice rang out in my head and I turned to hide away in my pillow as Yura rested his forehead on the nape of my neck.

"Yumin." I felt Jungkook's deep vocals bubble up in my chest as if the name had slipped from my own throat. The breath began to seep from my lungs and I drew in an unsteady breath.

        "Please."

"If you think I'm just gonna sit here and do nothing- Yes, hello? I'd like to report a kidnapping. A hostage. I-I-" Yoongi took a deep breath and ran his hand through his silky black hair. "My girlfriend's ex forced her to come home with him at gunpoint."

Staring out at the other members, he watched Jimin plug his ear with one finger as he spoke hurriedly into his phone on the opposite side of the kitchen. Listening to the operator on the phone, Yoongi's voice couldn't help but shake as he described everything that happened within the span of about ten minutes. Seeing Yumin walk past them in the living room as if she'd seen a ghost only to disappear outside made him wish he'd hopped to his feet sooner to see what was wrong. But, when Jungkook thundered down the stairs from his bedroom, panting heavily as he pushed off of every surface to regain his footing, Yoongi couldn't help but jump to his feet and follow.

God, how he wished he'd gotten up sooner.

"We're sending someone over right now; please be patient. I'm going to need your name and address and the name of the woman who was taken."
