Hating to loving you: him as your arranged husband - Jisung

Start from the beginning

If only he could be that way around you, then things would be a lot easier for you both. He wasn't a bad person, not at all. From what you know, he was quite sweet and considerate. At least to other people.

Slowly and surely, he'd show his true self, right? One-sided love was a bit hard, but if you could get him to possibly love back, or even just show even a little affection, you'd still be more than happy.

Day 178.
"I'll be heading to work now–" Jisung was about to leave through the door, but ends up coughing for the sixth time that morning.

"Are you alright?" You immediately head over to him and place your hand on his shoulder. "You don't seem well..."

He pushes you away at your comment, causing you to stumble back a few steps.

"I'm fine. Stop worrying so much–"

As he took a step forward, the rest of his body fell limp and collapsed onto the floor. Luckily before he hit the ground, you had jumped towards him and protect his body in your arms.

"Jisung!" You moved his bangs out of his face to feel the temperature of his forehead, only to find it alarmingly hot. "You're sick! More than sick!! What made you think going to work in the condition is a good idea?!?"

He groaned, too tired to move away from your hold and barely able to keep his eyes open. You carried him up and tried your best to bring him over to the bedroom, eventually making it and laying him down on his back.

Once he was resting comfortably with a blanket pulled up to his chin, you left to get a dampened washcloth, a water bottle, and some medicine for his fever.

"Y/n... y/n...." Jisung grumbled as you entered the room once again.

"I'm here," you spoke softly, not wanting to startle him. "I'm right here, always. Can you swallow these pills for me? I know you don't like pills but it's to help you, I promise."

He looked at them in your palm and reluctantly sat up to take the medicine, chugging down the water afterward. When he finished, he laid back down with a sigh.

You then got the cold cloth and placed it onto his scorching forehead, hoping you were doing everything right.

Silence.

Not exactly tension, just... a peaceful quiet. His face soon relaxed and you stared at your no-longer-cold-husband at that moment

"You need to get more sleep Jisung... Stop overworking yourself so much. I can't stand seeing you like this..." you whispered to his sleeping figure.

15 minutes pass and you decided that you should leave him alone for now. But before you exited, you leaned down to his cheek and gently kissed him.

"I love you... even though you hate me and our parents for forcing us together... I still naturally started to love you... So I'm sorry you have to be married to a girl you didn't choose, nor care about at all."

And like that, you walked away with a sad smile.

Day 231.
You've noticed something. Ever since that day when Jisung got sick, he's been nicer to you. It wasn't obvious, but you could tell that he's been trying to talk to you more. Most people probably think the small action doesn't matter, except to you, it meant the world. The gesture and effort touched your heart so much.

And now, you were gaping at the boy in disbelief, mouth parted in shock.

"W-what did you say?" You asked, not trusting your ears the first time he spoke up.

Jisung looked away to hide the pink hue creeping upon his face. He contemplated whether if he should repeat himself, or just throw away the thought completely. In the end, he went with the first option.
