CHAPTER 9

*AVA MARTIN*

After he went away I started to eat the food quietly. I guess I really don't have a way to go back home. I sighed. I wonder if my aunt told my sister. After I finished the food I called the maid. She came and took the tray.
As I was trying to sleep there was a knock on my door.

"Yes?"

The door opened revealing Mr. Rossi.
He had some sort of bags in his hands.

"What are those Mr. Rossi?"

"These are sent by the chairman."

"Devin?"

"Yeah. He wants to you get ready tomorrow night."

I opened the bags. There was a long knee length black dress. The other bags had some of my daily need stuff.

"What is this, mr.rossi?"

"I am not sure myself. Mr. Devin just told me to deliver these to you."

He said scratching his head.

"Okay."

"Then, I'll be going now."

"Sure."

After Mr. Rossi left I started wondering why he gave me those. Why a fancy black dress? Why all those daily need stuff. Stupid thoughts started surrounding my head like is he going to marry me that's why he bought this fancy dress? Am I going to stay here for a really long time that's why he bought me this stuff? Gosh! Why the hell is this happening to me!

*DEVIN MILLER*

"Sir I just delivered those to bags to Ava."

"Thank you Rossi."

"Devin you should take rest. You have to go to the company tomorrow."

"Yeah. You're right."

Yeah I guess I should take a little rest. There's a lot to deal tomorrow. I need some energy for that.

I went towards my room and fell asleep.
It was soon morning. I arrived at the company early.

As I was walking in the company I heard a voice from behind.

"Chairman!"

"Good morning max."

"Good morning sir."

"What are you doing here? It's really early. These aren't office times."

"Yes I know sir. I came early because I wanted to get comfortable around here since it's my first day."

"Then I'll meet you later max."

"Sure sir."

We started walking our own ways.

"Ah! Max, I just remembered a thing."

"What is it sir?"

"I want you to take the project miss ava was working on."

"Sure sir."

"Come to my office later I'll tell you what's it about?"

"Yes."

I went in my office and went through some paperwork. Because of the news that aired last week our company has dropped in ranking. It dropped from first ranking to fifth rank.

There was a knock on my office door.

"Come in."

"Chairman."

"Ah! Max. You have anything to say?"

"You called me because you wanted to tell me about the project."

"Ah that one! You ask the team manager I'm a bit busy right now."

"Okay. And sorry to disturb you but I have more thing."

"Yeah?"

"The company people are throwing me some kind of welcome party. It would be great if you came, sir."

"I'm afraid I can't come. I have some important business Tonight."

"Okay then."

I saw max walking out of the office.
I guess I have to give this contract to Ava today. I guess.......

I went back home around 9:00 pm.
I sat in the dining room.

"Bring in Ava."

"Yes sir."

I saw ava walking through the door. I got and pulled the seat for her to sit.
When she sat down I went back to my own seat.

"Why all this?"
Ava asked.

"Tell the maid to bring in the dinner."
I said ignoring her.

"Mr. Devin Miller, I asked what is all this nonsense!?"

"Do you have a bit of patience please."
I said rolling my eyes.

"No I don't. And I see no reason to have dinner with YOU! And even if there was a reason I still won't have dinner with you."

I saw ava get up and walk towards the door.

"Sit down, ava."

She didn't stop walking testing my patience.
My volcano of anger exploded.

"I SAID SIT THE HELL DOWN RIGHT NOW!!!"

She tried to show she was not afraid but I could see her pupils shaking. Somewhere inside she was deeply afraid of me.
She came back and sat down. Just then the maid came and placed the dinner infront of both us.

"Tell rossi to come in with that thing."

"Yes sir."
I maid went out replying to me.

It was just me and ava for a moment.

"Now would you like to tell me what the hell you want to talk about? Or do I have to wait for the whole century?"

Just then Rossi came in with the a file.

"Give it to Ava."

"Yes, sir."

He walked towards ava giving it to her. Ava slowly went through the file.

"What is this nonsense?"

"It's not a nonsense. It's a marriage contract."

"I don't understand why a marriage contract?"

"If you want to live a peaceful life. Let's have a contract marriage."

"I am not dumb enough to marry you even if it's a contract marriage."
Ava said smirking while pouring soup over the contract.

"Think it over, ava you're going to regret saying that to me."
I said making eye contact and making her shiver.

I walked towards her and harshly held her chin.

"Listen here, I am not giving you a choice. You have to even if you don't want to."

"What would I benefit from this marriage?"

"Hm..... let's see Instead of living in just a room you can roam around the whole mansion if you like. I'll give you a phone but only with limited contacts."

"I don't see that much benefits. Sorry I reject your proposal."

As she started getting up I tightly held her shoulder and made her sit back down.

"I think violence on women is your kind of thing."

"No baby, It depends upon the women's behavior."

"Don't babe me. Do you understand that?"

"Aww little kitten is getting angry. Just sign the marriage contract."

"Fine."

She angrily held the pen and signed on the papers.

"Satisfied? Now leave me alone."

I smirked as I saw the sign on the paper.
