"I can't do this anymore." "So you're giving up on us on me." "Baby." "No, I won't allow it." "I don't want a baby." "Why not." "Because I can't have a baby." "What are you serious. We had Bailey and you had a c section yes but your both healthy." "Derek I have a hostile uterus ok I doubt I can carry another child and I'm not going through what I went through when you were shot." "Meredith." "No I'm doing it at the end of the discussion it's my body my uterus I say no." She walks upstairs and shuts the door. "Dammit." She screams "Meredith Meredith let me in." "No." "I love you. I love you." She opens the door. I see her sitting on the floor by the shower. I close the door and hold her. "Meredith I understand you don't want a baby. But why don't we try again." "Oh my god, you just don't get it." She gets up and goes downstairs. "Zola is asleep she will need her food soon and there is some breast milk in the fridge for Bailey." "You're just saying that so I can consider having another baby.''
'' Meredith I want a baby what's so wrong with that,'' I ask
"Because a baby changes everything 3 kids Derek 3 kids. Bailey isn't even 1 yet and you wanna try again. I almost died when we had bailey and I'm am not going to have a baby just so that the universe can fuck with me I'm not.''' She says
"Mommy what's wrong,'' Zola asks
"Nothing baby let's get you back to sleep." She says
She comes back out of Zola's room and sits next to me on the couch.
"I love you and I will always love you but I'm just not ready yet. 3 kids is a lot and I don't want us to regret it.'' She says
I look towards her and say,'' I love you too and I understand we can wait if you want.''
"Ok lets go to bed.'' She says
"Ok.'' I say
We go upstairs and put on a pjs. We get in the bed and fall asleep in each others arms.
