I pace around the apartment, "what if something happens? What if he got caught? No, no Zack wouldn't have got caught. He'll just slaughter them. He'll be fine. Carter would have rung me if there was trouble. I know! I'll ring Carter! Carter is always a safe distance away.
I look up his number, press call. It rings for a bit, it's fine. "Why isn't he picking up?" IT rings out, I'll call again. Please pick up!
"Hello Ma'am, I'm sorry for missing your call. Is there something you need?"
"Yes, there is. Why hasn't Zack called in yet? He should have been finished by now."
"Oh, yes Sir. He said he had business to attend to."
"He made you promise didn't he..." Fucking Zack! His don't lie!
"Yes, Ma'am..."
"Where are yous?"
"I can't say."
"Carter I need to know where yous are! I need to know where Zack is! He has a job to do!"
"Yes, I know Ma'am. Sir said he had more important matters to attend to."
"Like what? What could be more important than murdering someone?!"
"Ma'am I'm sorry. But I can't betray Sir's trust."
Fucking Zack!! "Tell me about the area then? Are yous close to the target?"
"I'm sorry Ma'am, I can't tell you that either."
"Carter I'm getting pissed! Tell me where you are!!"
"I'm sorry Ma'am I can't."
"Fuck me!! Patch me through to Zack now!!"
"But -"
"Patch me through!!"
"Yes, Ma'am..."
The line goes quiet, "I swear Zack. If this is just to get prekills. I'm going to be pissed."
"Patching you through now..."
"It's about fucking time!!" It goes quiet again.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"
"EXCUSE ME? WHAT DO I WANT?! I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU'RE NOT AT YOUR JOB KILLING YOUR TARGET! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!"
"I'M FUCKING BUSY!"
"YOU HAVE A FUCKING JOB TO DO! GO DO IT!"
"I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO FUCKING DO!!"
"ZACK!! THIS IS YOUR JOB!!"
"I'LL DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT TO DO!!"
Did he just hang up? I check my phone. "He hung up! That bastard!! I'll show him."
I call back Carter. The call rings out, I retail. "I swear Carter if you turn on! I'm going cut you!"
It rings out again, "Fuck you both!"
Knock Knock
"WHAT?!"
I hear the door creak, "what happens?" It's Ray, she closes the door.
I turn around to her, "Zack gone off!"
"What do you mean gone? Zack left you?"
"He had a job and hasn't done it yet! He was supposed to be done four hours ago!!"
