"Ah! But I want to go!" Little Jungkook sobbed into his small chubby hands.
"Aigoo, my Kookie! Your dad is right, we'll all go together when you grow up to a big boy." His mother reassured him, softly caressing his cheeks.
Jungkook peeked in between his fingers, his pink lips still forming into a pout.
"Now c'mon show us your pretty smile." His mom started to tickle him.
Soon the young boy's cries turned into the biggest smile, revealing his adorable bunny teeth.
His mother then embraced him in her arms as she pecked the top of his head. Little giggles filled the room. All three of them were happy.
A lone bead of tear rolled down Jungkook's cheek as he now realized what was his parents meant by that and they were right.
"Jungkook you're gonna lose." Jin and Jimin mocked at him while their hands were busy tapping the keys on their respective keyboards.
"Jeon Jungkook! Jeon Jungkook!" Yoongi rooted for him like a cheerleader, the only missing thing was pom-pomps.
"Yay! I knew it! Our Jungkookie always wins." Namjoon gave him a high-five and then hugged him.
Jungkook blinked his eyes rapidly as the wind mercilessly lashes at him.
"See! I told you not to get out in rain without an umbrella. You know that you easily catch a cold. But don't worry Jungkook, you'll be alright. Hyung is always here for you." Hoseok assured him placing his hand on his warm forehead.
He didn't sleep overnight and took care of feverish Jungkook like his own brother.
"Jungkook-ah, I bought a new game! Let's play today at my place." Taehyung hopped onto his shoulder, playfully ruffling his raven hair, instantly bringing a bright smile to the younger's face.
"Hey, Jungkook! My mom made Tteokbokki for you, would you like to join me in the lunch?" Moon greeted him gently. Jungkook's mood immediately lifted as it was his favorite dish.
And Bee? who was the only friend of his age, whom he didn't have a chance to properly know yet and their friendship ended before without even starting.
All those faces reflected before his eyes, who were his whole world, how they were always by his side, in his good times, in his bad times, whenever he needed someone. How they could go to any extent just to maintain his smile.
How he wished he didn't have that power which he once thought was a boon but it turned out a bane to him.
All those golden memories were precious to him more than anything else, more than any treasure because he knew what was coming, he knew nothing was going to revive back, he knew it was the end of his life.
"I am sorry." Those three bitter words escaped his mouth as his lips forced into a painful smile because he knew it could be the last one and like that he closed his eyes as he fell into the abyss of death.
While the rest of their's eyes dumbfoundedly searched for him as he was nowhere to be seen.
Namjoon's and Jin's eyes glowed emerald and pearl white respectively as both of them flew to the depth, searching for him.
"W-what happened? Where's he?" Moon asked with her shaking voice.
Both of their eyes with pooling tears and head hung low was enough to tell that they couldn't find a single trace of Jungkook.
"Jungkook-ah! Where are you?!" Taehyung squealed at the top of his voice.
"Yes! Jungkook respond to us!" Yoongi shouted, forming an 'o' shape by placing both of his hands near his lips.
"Yah! Our bet is still pending, you can't just leave me like that! I also have to defeat you in games when we return back to our world." Jin lost his cool as he exclaimed like a madman.
While Hoseok and Bee were on the ground, their eyes shedding tears like an open faucet.
"Jungkook-ah, I'll never fight with you ever again. For God's sake! just come back." Jimin's knees gave up as he let the stream of tears painting his cheeks.
No matter how much they cried, how much they screamed their lungs out, the truth couldn't change. Jungkook didn't come back.
He was gone.
