Chapter 40.

Lapis: (groans*) What about you y/n?! Don't tell me you forgive her after she nearly shot you to death?!

You: Lapis, I know peridot was a bad person in the past but she changed. She changed a lot.

Steven: (walks next to Peridot*) It's true, Lapis! Peridot has really come into her own since she's been living on Earth.

Peridot: I sabotaged my own mission! I helped save the Earth! I even yelled at Yellow Diamond! She's probably sending a whole fleet to find me and shatter me right now. I'm kind of a big deal; a big Anti-Homeworld deal!

Lapis approaches you and steven, and Peridot moves behind her uncertainly

Lapis: (forcing a concerned smile*) Steven, I don't think this is gonna work.

Steven: Ahhhh, ummmm, maybe we could put up a curtain?

Lapis gives Steven a patient smile while you just looked at him with a confuse look.

You: Steven, why do you think putting up a curtain would work?

Lapis then walks out of the barn and flies away to the top of the silo. Peridot starts pouting as Lapis flies off.

Steven: (turns to Peridot*) Err, sorry. Thought this was gonna be okay... y/n already reminded me the last time you saw each other.. wasn't, so okay. But did you really shot y/n back then peridot?

Peridot: (sighs*) Yes, but y/n's power was very unstable and very powerful at that time.

Steven: (looks at you worried*) Wait, what do you mean unstable? As in y/n can't control his powers?

Peridot: Correct, I had no other choice but to contain him or else he will destroy this planet in half.

You: (surprised*) Wait, how?! Is my gem really that powerful?

Peridot: (sighs*) Yes y/n, your gem has a small ammount of the power of the other three diamonds and a planetary umbrakinesis level. Of course your gem is capable of destroying planets if you reach your full potential. 

Peridot: (takes a deep breath and exhales*) I know I did a lot of horrible things but. That was in the past! It's not like that now! UGHH! (stomps away*)

Steven: We know.

Peridot: But obviously she doesn't! She's the one who needs to know! I want her to understand!

You: (smiles at peridot*) That's really adorable peridot. (looks back at steven*) You know steven, maybe you are kinda right. Maybe peridot might have a chance to prove herself to lapis.

Steven: Awww Peridot, that's sweet! Y/N you're right. That's the peridot you need to show her!

Peridot: (confused*) Show her my sweet?...

You: Yes peridot, show her how much you regret on what you did to her and express on how will you do anything to change her mind. Steven, I will go and find lapis to calm her down, while you help peridot to express her "sweet".

Steven: I got you y/n *(does his signature finger-out-and-wink*)

You: Good. (you looked at peridot and smiled*) And peridot I believe in you.

You leaved them both and summon your water wings and fly away. Steven takes out a giant piece of paper and folds it in half.

Steven: Cards are a great way to tell someone something if you can't be face to face with them! ...Or if they don't wanna see your face. You gotta give her a taste of the sweet version of Peridot.

Steven starts drawing on the cover of the card while Peridot watches, seemingly in distaste.

Steven: Here, look! (hands Peridot his drawing*) It's you and Lapis holding hands!
