Song: The Night We Met - Slowed
By: Lord Huron
_____________

I sat on top of the car I drove off in.
I had no idea where I was going.
But I ended up here.
Empty road, surrounded by trees.

Seths base was already in the middle of no where, so who knows where i've gone too.

The moons light was bright, the sky filled with millions upon millions of stars.

Josie would've loved this.
Ever since we were kids, we'd also always star gaze together.
It's what gave us a break when our worlds fell.

I rummaged through the car, looking to find something, anything.

Thank god, there was a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of Vodka.
The boys talked about 'Celebrating' if all goes well on the mission, guess it came to good use...for me.

Like I said, I sit on top of the black car I drove, in the middle of no where, a half drunken bottle of vodka next to me, a lit cigarette in my hand.

My phone has been ringing non-stop.

I just couldn't.
I feel like I've been pushed back down into the dark. Into the empty pit that i've just climbed out of.
It's dark and i'm all alone. Again.

Luca's been nothing but honest with me.
And yet, here I am. Keeping secrets.

But am I?
We've never really opened up about our past.
He's never talked about his father, his mother, how he was born into this life.
The conversation just never erupted.

I've been gone for almost three hours now.
I've smoked half a pack of cigarettes by the time I finally decided to pick up my phone.

Let's be honest, I can't drive home In this condition.

The latest text read-
Luca: Stay put. I'm coming to get you.

From a hour ago.

Fuck. He has my location?

Just as I took a swig of my vodka bright head lights shined into my eyes.

I recognized the car immediately.

Luca turned off the engine before slamming his door shut.

He shook his head disappointingly.

I just rolled my eyes, lights another cigarette.

He stayed quite.
I watched him carefully as he took a seat next to me on the hood of the car.

The tension was thick, you could cut it with a knife if you had to.

I held the cigarette towards him and he took it from me. Taking in the smoke a few times before handing it back to me.

"Let's talk." His voice was raspy.

I stay silent.

"I heard what Alana said."

I pulled my knees up into my chest, "Okay." I whispered.

"You had a brother?" He placed his hand on my knee, squeezing reassuringly.

"Jeremiah Steele. We called him Jeremy." I smiled.
I put out my cigarette, laying back on the hood of the car.

Luca looked down at me before doing the same, laying next to me.

"Jeremy was a year older than I was. My parents had Jeremy, then got pregnant with me before immigrating to American from Spain.
We grew up in the slums of New York," I sighed.

I looked back up at the stars trying to make out the constellations.
Jeremy, Josie, and I used to do this together.
The Bid Dipper was his favorite.
