Chapter 35

Lucas's POV: We were on our way to New York, 15 minutes on the road. I was driving, Jake was in the passenger seat and Rik, Dani and Chloe were in the back.

Dani: I just don't get why all you can go with your boyfriends and I can't.

Jake: Because there's not room for everyone, and the more cars we take the more cars we'll have to park there

Dani: Quiet

Lucas: Lol. You wanna put some music on then?

Dani: Yes, in fact. - she was taking care of the music now. We were all vibing, it was really nice. Then Chloe was saying something and it started to play Always by Gavin James

Dani: Why this one? - Chloe was behind me, I looked at her at the rear view mirror

Chloe: Please.. pretty please

I started singing. Everyone went quiet. Dani got her phone and started recording. They were mouth dropped, too much in my opinion, I don't sing that well.

Dani: When did this happen?! And how did I not know about this???

Lucas: I don't really go around singing anymore. I used to, a lot.

Jake: Why did you stop?

Lucas: When my mom died.. I was like meh. But my grandma kept me going. Then when she died.. I don't know.. I didn't really want to anymore, it didn't feel good as it used to.

Erika: I'm sorry..

Lucas: It's ok

Dani: You sang now tho.

Lucas: Because I guess it feels right again.

Dani/Erika: Awwwnnnn

Dani: Well please go on. Which song do you want now?

Lucas: Hm.. I don't know, any honestly, you choose - she started playing an acoustic version of Titanium by David Guetta and Sia

Chloe: Spot on

This was like one of my favorite songs ever. I guess there are some songs that you just put your heart and soul when you sing it yk? And this was one of these songs for me. When the song ended they started clapping and I started laughing

Erika: Wow!

Dani: That was amazing!

Jake: You're really good bro

Lucas: Appreciate that

Erika: One more! Please

Chloe: Now that he started he'll keep singing

Lucas: Not alone tho. Y'all sing with me

Erika: Honestly I'm enjoying the show

Dani: Same, and for free. Which one was it?

Erika: This one - she started playing Hey there Delilah, that song is just a vibe

Lucas: Hey there Delilah, what's it like in New York City? I'm a 1000 miles away, but girl tonight you look so pretty yes you do.. - I was expecting them to sing but the girls didn't. So I kept going. Jake got his phone and turned on the flashlight and we started laughing.

This is why I like music, it's always a good moment, even if it is a calmer song. The emotion, doesn't matter which one, it's always there. I'm glad I sang in front of them, I think I'll go back to singing and playing like I used to, it made me happy despite everything else.

Dani: I have the song - she started playing little things by one direction. That song is beautiful. I was looking at Chloe while I sang it too.
