CHAPTER 8- Friends with you

My birthday was somehow amazing at the same time heart breaking - maybe because I am not in good terms with Professor Rodriguez. I tried to reach out to her especially during the Christmas Party for the Graduate School students last Friday night. But I did not find her nor seen her during that night. I made new friends during the party and I tried to shrug off the thoughts of Professor Rodriguez- but I can't take her out of my mind.

Christmas is approaching and I should not feel this way. Bakit ako naaapektuhan dahil sa kanya?

"Hey, kanina ka pa tulala." Bulong sa akin ni Steven. He is wearing a tuxedo with a silver bow tie.

Meanwhile, I am wearing one shoulder cut out slit bodycon silver dress para terno kami sa isa't isa.

We are here at his Dad's corporate Christmas Party because I promised him that I'll be his date for tonight. Maraming mga businessmen ang invited ngayon. Ang iba pa ay mga Celebrity Entrepreneurs na mga kilala ko rin.

Nagulat pa ako dahil may mga kumuha pa sa amin ng mga litrato. For sure, pagp-pyestahan na naman kami ng mga tao.

I looked at him and inayos ang silver bow tie niya na nakatabingi ngayon. "Medyo pagod lang at maraming iniisip. But don't worry, Steven.. I'm fine." I smiled at him and waited for the party to start.

He is holding my hand right now to reassure me that everything will be fine. He is the ideal guy for every women.

"Ang sweet niyo naman, when is the wedding? For sure it will be the wedding of the year" Narinig kong banggit ng katabing table namin. Round table kasi ito at may kaunting espasyo lang from us.

Steven just smiled at them and said. "I don't want to pressure my date tonight. Being with her right now is a blessing."

"Steven, my son, come here with Athena." Narinig kong banggit ng Daddy ni Steven.

Sabay kaming tumayo at inalalayan niya ako papunta sa direction ng Daddy niya.

Nagulat ako dahil nasa likod nito si Mr. Ernesto Rodriguez.

"You see Ernesto, this is the only time that my son brought a date with him and it is no other than Athena De Vera. You see how lucky my son?" His Dad is smiling widely to Mr. Ernesto.

"I know Athena already, Manuel, she is the current model of our company. She did justice promoting our products." Mr. Ernesto offered a hand shake to me and Steven and we gladly accepted it.

Siguro wala dito si Professor Eira dahil hindi naman siya pala attend ng mga ganitong events. Yun ang pagkakaalam ko at wala pa rin akong mukhang ihaharap sa kanya.

Nagkwekwentuhan lang sila Mr. Lee and Mr. Rodriguez ng biglang bumukas ang pintuan. Halos napatingin ang mga tao sa dalawang tao na kakapasok lang.

Sila Lorenzo at Professor Eira.

She is currently wearing a royal blue off-shoulder dress at naka blue na tuxedo rin si Lorenzo.

Akala ko LQ sila? Baka bati na sila.

She's so pretty and magnificent.

"Here you are my daughter!" Niyakap niya si Professor Eira. Napatitig sa gulat naman ang Propesor sa akin.

"Manuel, this is my daughter, Eira, the heiress of ER Collections and my future son, Lorenzo Buenavista. He is the son of the late Miguel Buenavista, my best friend and old pal."

They extended their hands to Mr. Manuel Lee.

"Aba, mukhang mauuna pa yata ang anak mo magpakasal, Ernesto. Hayaan mo at imbitado rin kayo sa kasal ni Steven and Athena." Nakangising banggit ni Mr. Manuel.
