Avon looked at Quin as she winced as more thunder and lightning struck. Avon wrapped an arm around Quin's shoulder and squeezed it,

"It's going to be alright,"

Quin nodded. Then her eyes widened,

"MY MOM!"

Avon's eyes widened,

"Oh my god,"

Quin stood up,

"She's gonna be all alone!"

Avon tugged on her arm,

"Quin! It is not safe out there!"

Quin shook her head as tears left her eyes,

"But Avon! The last thing I spoke to her was at court saying I never wanted to see her again!"

Avon sighed and paced the room before looking outside,

"God damn it,"

She looked at Quin,

"Quin. We have no way of getting there. We have no car, no taxi, nothing,"

Quin teared up more,

"But my mom,"

Avon pulled her into a hug as Quin burst into tears. Avon patted her back,

"Alright alright...I'll see if anyone here has like some sort of phone or landline so you can call her,"

Quin smiled,

"Alright,"

Avon nodded,

"Do you want to come?"

Quin nodded. The two linked arms tightly and left Avon's apartment and walked right next to to her door and knocked. An older guy opened his door and frowned,

"Hello?"

Avon smiled at him,

"Hello sir, I was wondering if you had a phone that my sister could use,"

The guy sighed and shook his head,

"I'm sorry girls, but I have nothing, I tried asking other people too but nothing,"

Quin turned to Avon,

"Ave,"

Avon sighed and looked at the guy,

"Uh, do you have access to the news? Our mother lives in a house,"

The guy immediately frowned,

"I heard many houses are being destroyed,"

Quin started tearing up again and Avon ran a hand through her hair,

"Uh...okay okay...Vi, you gotta stay in my place at all cost okay? I'll see if I can go-"

The guy immediately shook his head,

"No,"

Avon looked at the guy again and he put a hand on her shoulder,

"Kid, it is too dangerous outside, you gotta wait out the storm,"

Avon sighed and Quin frowned sadly. Avon nodded at the guy,

"I-uh...thank you sir,"

The guy nodded sadly at the two,

"I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, my name is Aster, please stay inside,"

Avon nodded,

"I will, thank you Aster,"

Aster nodded and the two went back inside Avon's apartment. Quin slid down the wall and curled up, bursting into tears. Avon sighed and sat down next to her,
