“Casabuena, Juan Karlos B.” the emcee announced. “Cum Laude.”
Sabay-sabay kaming nagpalakpakan ng tawagin na si Uno sa stage. Tita Katarina was crying seeing his son in that stage. I’m also in the verge of crying, pero pinipigilan ko. I was so proud of him. Kitty was taking pictures with his phone para i-send kay Ate Kath na hindi makadalo dahil nasa States. Pati ‘rin si Tito ay hindi makadalo dahil sabi ni Tita Katarina, may business meeting.
Seeing him in that stage makes me happy…for him. I’m so proud of him!
“Congratulations!”
Sigaw ni Tita Katarina pagkatapos ng program. Mabilis na niyakap ni Tita si Uno. Kasabay ni Kitty na walang magawa kundi umirap sa kuya niya.
“Congrats!” bati ko. “You made it!”
“Thanks babe.” Then he kissed my forehead.
“I’m so proud of you!” I told him.
We took some pictures before going home. Binati ko ‘rin sina Pao, Lana, at Samuel bago kami umuwi. They made it. Now, they can reach their dreams…that is to perform with music. We celebrated at Uno’s house due to Tita Katarina’s jubilation. Ang daming pagkain na ipinahanda niya. It was a food heaven for me. Sumunod ‘rin si Tito kaya naman kumpleto sila ngayon maliban kay Ate Kath.
The night was really fulfilling especially for him. After the graduation, napag-isipan nina Samuel na mag-celebrate kasama kami sa isang beach resort sa may Zambales. Kumpleto kami lahat…Ako, Uno, Dani, Samuel, Lana, at Pao. Ito ‘raw ang regalo nila sa sarili nila after graduation at bago magsimulang magtrabaho sa isang recording company.
Kumuha sila ng maraming gig para sa exposure nila bago mag-debut as a band. They were told by the management to do that. Meron ‘rin silang meeting with the company and their manager. ‘Yung tatay na ni Dani ang pumili ng manager for them. He was kinda close with the company kaya naman nagawa nila ‘yun.
Ako naman sumasama kay Dani sa mga fashion show niya o kaya naman photoshoots. Wala ‘rin naman akong magawa dahil summer vacation ngayon at walang pasok. Dani became one of the rising model in the country because of the shows she booked during the New York Fashion Week. Of course, Tita Daisy was really happy and very supportive.
“How’s your day?” I asked Uno.
Nandito kami ngayon sa condo niya. Halos araw –araw sila may gig kaya naman puyat na puyat siya. The company was really strict in terms of their works kaya naman mas pinagbubutihan nila.
“It’s okay.” he said. “I’m just tired. Can I get a hug?”
Tumabi ako sa kanya sa couch for him to cuddle me. He quickly put his arm around my waist and kiss my cheek. I love the warmth that he always gave me. We stay in that position for a minute before he started talking.
“Malapit na ang debut namin.” Sabi niya. “I’m nervous babe.”
“Don’t be.” I said to him. “It’s your dream remember?”
I hugged him so tight for him to feel my love and support. I looked really small beside him. I was facing his mighty chest as I hug him.
