Kaito x Reader - Only a birthday Pt.1

{Kaito}: "Yeah, but I think they'll leave in an hour."

{Y/N}: "That's good! Do you got time to come over later?"

{Kaito}: "of course, I'll be there in two to three hours, if that's not too late."

{Y/N}: "It's fine, you can sleep here."

{Kaito}: "Sounds good! See you later then."

{Y/N}: "Yes, later!"

Good, that worked!

To distract me from my nervousness, I put on some music and lit up the fireplace.

{Y/N}: "Jesus, why is it so cold in here?"

I looked out of the window, and saw that it was raining.

{Y/N}: "No.. Why does it have to rain now?"

I said in a sad tone. Normally I liked the rain, and the sound of it when it crashed against my window. But it ruined my plan just now.

Even if it stops in the next couple of hours, everything will still be wet.

{Y/N}: "Alright.. Time for plan b..which I don't have."

I moved away the couch and the chairs from the fireplace, placing a blanked over my carped so I wouldn't ruin it.

This doesn't look so good.. Well, it's all I got now..

Disappointed, I went up to my room, getting ready for Kaito.

*Ding Dong*

{Y/N}: Ah, he's there!

I rushed to the door and welcomed him in.

{Kaito}: "Sorry, am I late?"

{Y/N}: "Ah, no, don't worry."

I made some weird hand movements while talking, not really knowing what to do with them.

{Kaito}: "What did you do with your house?"

{Y/N}: "Eh.. So.. The plan was, to go on a picnic with you, but as I see it's still raining, because you're wet to the bone."

I passed him a towel.

{Y/N}: "So.. This is all we got."

{Kaito}: "Picnic? For my birthday? That's awesome!"

{Y/N}: "Well then, sit down, but before we eat I want to give you something."

I grabbed the present and placed it in front of him.

{Y/N}: "I.. Hope you like it."

I nervously played with my hands, waiting for his reaction.

{Kaito}: "You shouldn't have.."

{Y/N}: "Just tell me if it's alright."

I smiled a little at him as he opened it.

{Kaito}: "Woah! This is really cool!"

I looked at Kaito, who looked at the lil present like a kid, it warmed my heart.

{Y/N}: "I'm glad, I thought it was too childish."

{Kaito}: "no no, I love it! Thanks little one."

I saw his face getting sadder.

{Y/N}: "What's wrong?"

{Kaito}: "....Now I feel really bad."

{Y/N}: "huh? Why?"

{Kaito}: "Because I didn't got you anything for your birthday a while ago.."

{Y/N}: "oh, no, it's fine, really, I don't mind. I'm happy if you're happy."

Kaito got up to hug me.

{Kaito}: "no, no it's not fine. I should've got you something. And me being busy is no good excuse."

{Y/N}: "....Well, it would have been nice to get something, but I'm not mad, really."

{Kaito}: "Sorry. I didn't wanted to disappoint you."

{Y/N}: "The only thing that disappointed me was the rain today."

I laughed it off. I don't want him to feel bad at all.

He looked at me with puppy eyes.

{Y/N}: "How about we finally eat the cake?"

{Kaito}: "..Sounds good to me, but I will make it up to you!"

{Y/N}: I smiled.
"Sure!"
