*King*

I spent my time laying in Wheezy's bed. As much as I adored my friend, but the smell of smoke was unbearable. I sighed. I heard a knock at the door, so I got up in some pain and walked over. I saw some imps.

"I guess you want me to follow you?" They nodded, grabbing my bags. I just followed them as they flew by. We went down some halls, very close to the Boss's room. "Um... boys are you sure I should be here?" I really wanted to stay outta trouble. They seemed to ignore me and simply opened the room. "What in the?..." The room was lovely... purple walls, my initials in gold in hearts with a crown over them. I was surprised. "wow.... this is lovely." The imps set down my bags. "Are you sure this is all for me?" They nod, and... I felt bad taking this room without doing anything but being a waiter. I didn't want to be ungrateful... but did I really deserve all this. The imps showed me around to the gorgeous king sized bed with a lacey overhang and purple curtains. A vanity with lots of cosmetics... and going to the bathroom it was a full bath. Was I being treated better than the others? I hope not... Wheezy came by.

"Well looks like you finally got a room." He smiled to me. I was surprised, everyone got a lovely room like this? "Boss tries to match our personalities." I smiled sweetly.

"I haven't had a room like this in years." I smiled and laid in bed with a smile. "I lived in that shed so long... I never thought I could have such a purple room." I smiled sweetly. It was all so royal and lovely... Wheezy smiled and left. "How wonderful..." I smiled to myself. The imps closed my door and I laid there with a small smile on my face. I hadn't had a room this warm in so long... The bed was soft and the comforters warm. I got up and noticed a box on my night stand labeled;

Manager's

I panicked. Was I in the wrong room? I picked up the box and went to the Boss's door, knocking hard. I heard a loud groan.

"What do you want!?" I rolled my eyes and just went in. The Devil was angry when he looked to me, but then relaxed. "King, how can I help you?" I put the box on his desk.

"Sir, this was in my new room, but... I'm not the manager." He seemed confused as I spoke.

"Well eventually I'd like you to be my manager." I nodded and smiled a bit.

"Right sir, but... I'm not a manager yet, I probably shouldn't have this... but what is in here?" I couldn't help but look to the box. Inside could be the start to a better life... or a way to forget all these horrid memories. The Devil smiled to me.

"Well for a good manager, I need someone who can gamble well and cheat these filthy sinners into a contract. So there are demon eyes in here, they show you people's darkest desires. There is also a soul contract, binding you to me for eternity." I nodded, it all didn't seem to bad. "We can add anything to the contract that you want, all at the price of your soul." I looked to the box in wonderment... I could maybe start over...

"Even forgetting painful memories?... Could that be in the contract?" The Devil laughed a bit and nodded.

"Anything your heart desires can be added, as long as you keep your end of the deal, loyalty to me. You get to decide what sinners pay for what sins, all I need is those contracts." I felt myself be tempted to just say yes-

"Deal." I looked up to him. He looked shocked. "Yes, right now, deal. I... I'd only like to add that I remember nothing of my brothers and father... I want to be free to make my own life." The Devil smiled to me as he wrote on the contract.

"Well King, I will add that you have impressed me with how well you can cheat someone out of their soul." He smiled to me devilishly making my cheeks go purple. "Though even I can't tell how you do it. Which is quite intriguing." I looked away shyly as he turned the contract to me. "Once you sign this memories will go away, but you will know that you have been through abuse, but won't remember the people. Your life is up to you now." I took the pen and read through everything, including fine print. I read that... my magic would amplify over time. I immediately signed.

"We're past the point of no return." I smiled to him with an evil grin. He smiled back as we both shook hands, but once our hands separated I noticed a pink dice in my hand. I felt it had magic within it.

"Within that you can go into multiple unused layers of "rooms" throughout the casino. These can be used for storage, but that die will amplify your current powers more, you have control of everything within this casino, same as me." He and I couldn't help but smile... I soon couldn't remember... faces and names faded away from me.

"It's all gone..." A hand went to my head. The Devil smiled and nodded.

"Told you we could do anything." I smiled and nodded. "Well King, I have an appointment for a tailor for you. Have fun~" I took everything he gave me except the contract and ran off but turned back to him.

"Thank you... so much. No one's showed me any kindness like this." Then ran away as my cheeks burned dark purple.

*Devil*

I smiled as I saw him run off after his thank you... What a sweet and genuine man. I smiled. I knew I picked a good man to be manager. I looked all over Inkwell City for someone to work with, and manager after manager failed me, but King was a different beast. He knew the casino better  than most my staff, and already had improved so much of the casino. For all that, I was willing to block some memories for him... and help him anyway I could. I got up and went to King's room. The atmosphere around the man went from a sweet country boy to some sort of regal monarch. King smiled as he got fitted for a suit, and damn this new aura suited him so much better. He smiled to me and waved, the tailor getting annoyed with his much cheerier and smiley nature. I smiled and waved too. We'll make one hell of a team.
