"Brother, what should we do first, now that we're together again?" He acted as if he hadn't just nearly broken my spine, but I couldn't blame him..how had I acted after being corrupted?

"..I.." I looked at him fearfully. "Wh-why did you do that?"

"I wanted to understand you, and you know what? I think..I finally get it. Positivity is overrated, don't you think? Nobody needs to be happy..it's only a block in the road. Negativity is..warm. I think I understand everything, brother."

I reached for my communicator; maybe Error could have changed Dream's code to turn him back? It sounded better than the alternative. Before I could reach it, another tendril grabbed my wrist; that was a bad idea..

"Trying to call someone?" Dream ripped off my communicator and threw it away from us before turning to glare at me. "So..I take my time to try to understand you..and you immediately reject me..betray me. Very well, brother. I can see now that no matter what I do, you'll always be fighting me..it happened in the village, it happened when I tried to save you, and it's happening now. I get it; we're just not meant to work with eachother. I can accept that. What I can't accept..is you. So you're going to turn your back on me, even when I want to help you? What an ingrate. I suppose the world will be better off without you. Don't worry, brother; I'll take good care of your 'boys.'"

Dream proceeded to throw me against a building that had likely been abandoned for over a century; I couldn't find it in my soul to fight him. Maybe this was what I deserved..being beaten to death by my own brother..every hit felt like betrayal, but I couldn't bring myself to think of it that way. I found myself accepting the blows; maybe he was right, and I just hadn't noticed it..had I really betrayed him? I was sobbing as he showed me how little he thought of me..I had wronged him, hadn't I? With a final blow, he looked at my motionless figure on the ground with hate in his eyelight before spitting on me; that sealed it..he truly hated me. He didn't even bother to finish me off, opening a portal to leave me to die. Once he had left, I thought I was going to die; the setting was regrettably perfect. After waiting for death to overtake me for ten minutes, I heard..portals..multiple portals..

"There he is!" That sounded like..the Underswap Sans?

"That doesn't look like him.." The Underswap Papyrus hummed. "Dream wears yellow, Blue.

"He looks good in purple!"

"What if it isn't him?"

"It isn't him.." Ink spoke up.

"Who else walks around with a crown and those kind of clothes?" The Underswap Sans inquired.

"Nightmare."

"But..Nightmare's all goopy!"

"I visited Dreamtale before his corruption..I'll be darned if that isn't him."

"He looks pretty beat up.." The Underswap Papyrus commented.

"Do we help him?" The Underswap Sans wondered.

"At the moment, he could be our only lead to finding Dream.." Ink sighed. "We're taking him."

When that had been said, I felt myself being lifted off the ground and carried into a portal. Due to the other side's advanced medical technology, I found myself able to move freely within a couple hours, at which point I was faced with the trio that had saved me.

"So, Nightmare.." Ink began. "Why were you in Dreamtale?"

"...I suppose I can answer your questions in return for saving my life." I had to keep up my reputation, if nothing else. "I was in Dreamtale because I sensed a large amount of negativity there."

"Where is Dream?" The Underswap Sans wanted to get straight to the point.

"I don't know where he is now, but he was in Dreamtale."

"Why was he in Dreamtale?" Ink regained his interrogator status.

"I don't know. He was the negativity that I felt."

"But..Dream can't be sad.." The Underswap Sans was confused.

"What? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! We may be linked to a type of energy, but that doesn't mean that we can't feel the other's! Dream has as much capability of being sad as I have of being happy."

"What happened in Dreamtale?" Ink wanted to get back to the questioning.

"I found Dream in front of where the tree used to stand. I started talking to him, trying to find out why he was there, when he pulled out a negative apple. Long story short, he had the brilliant idea of consuming said apple, and now he looks like I used to, and he's quite possibly more insane than I am."

"Was he the one who nearly killed you?" The Underswap Papyrus asked.

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out."

"Ink, are you okay?" The Underswap Sans looked to Ink, who seemed strangely frozen.

"A negative apple?" Ink mouthed; I knew that look..I didn't know how, but I did.

"What did you do?" I accused.

"I-I didn't think it would have those consequences!"

"What did you do?!"

"I..may have created..a negative apple..for an experiment.." Ink chuckled nervously. "And..forgot about it?"

"You what?!"

"I was going to try to regrow the tree for Dream's birthday, but I could only find negative energy..I was trying to find some positive energy, but I guess I left the negative apple there.."

"And now Dream's been corrupted.." I sighed..today was not a good day.

"I'm really sorry..could you maybe help us, you know, save him?"

"Do you realize how ironic it would be if I took Dream's old place while he took-"

"What's wrong?"

"Dream..he..he said something.."

"About what?"

"My boys."
