Write a narrative with the title, 'The mirror'
Abandoned, dilapidated and ancient were my only word to describe the house. The sky above was full of tumultuous, dark, ragged clouds. The once bright moon which spread its luminescence was nowhere to be found, instead, Intermittent flashes of lightning lit up the sky as the fiery bolts slam viciously into emaciated trees. The stars which once scattered the sky now cowers, terrified behind the clouds.
I slowly stepped inside the house letting in a deep breath to calm my rapid heartbeat. As soon as I pushed open the door, a pungent smell that permeated the air entered my lungs. Stifling a cough I made my way toward a room. The windows rattled vigorously from the howling wind, as though they were about to fall out of the frames which were made from rotting wood being eaten away by woodworm. The room had an eldritch vibe that made my skin prickle with fear, increasing my heartbeat with perturbation and trepidation. In the centre of the room was a huge mirror which was fully scratched by what seemed like animals claws and there was some preposterous gibberish written on it.
There was something very cryptic about the mirror. It reflected the luminescence of the moon but the vanquished moon was cowering behind the ominous clouds. As I made my way toward the mirror I saw a shadow moving behind me. Instantaneously the shadow grabbed my hand and in the mirror, I saw the most hideous creature ever. The last thing I saw in the mirror was the monster smirking malevolently at me from the mirror and before I could take any action, I fainted.
