Internal vs. External Work

Start from the beginning

Taking an internal approach you will see your external world change to reflect what you are emanating from the inside.

My focus is to guide people to connect back to their intuitive self, one free from others' judgments, beliefs and agendas. By going inward and discovering what is best for you and not for others, you will see fundamental changes within yourself, resulting in a positive difference in your life. It is a wonderful feeling to live a life that reflects the best of you.

All of us have made changes in our life, whether that be leaving our hometown, starting and ending relationships, going to school, changing jobs/careers, focusing on your health (appearance being a big motivator) and so forth. When you make any of the changes I mentioned or any other change in your life you expect to see a positive difference in your life. You hope to see the transformation of your current situation to who you truly want to be or the life you wish to live. Sometimes there is no change, sometimes there is a little bit of change, even sometimes there is big change, however after having experienced the initial change (even if it lasts for some time) you start to notice that you end up in the same situation with very similar characters.

Groundhog Day

Here's an example. Imagine you hated your job and you hated your boss. You were struggling to do anything right at work and were always receiving negative reviews, it didn't matter how hard you were working. You finally get the strength to seek a different job, you are offered the position and you put your notice in to go and work for the new organization. You start the new job and are enjoying the new work. After some months, you start to notice you work with another person who reminds you of your old boss and you start to struggle at work again. You are always fighting just to do your job. There seems to be roadblocks in the way all of the time. Other colleagues begin to tell you how miserable they are at work and it begins to feel eerily similar to your previous company. You start your plan to leave again.

Here's another example that many individuals experience with their health, although in most minds, weight. You are unhappy with how you look and decide you are going to find a new diet and workout regime. You choose one and follow it with intensity. You lose weight, you start to feel fantastic, start to buy new clothes, start smiling more and getting out more often. After sometime, whether a few months or even years go by you regain all of the weight that you lost. Now you have to try once again, well at least once you become frustrated enough to try again.

And yet another example. You are in a relationship with a bad partner. You finally get out of the relationship and a new person comes into your life. They appear to be different from the last person you were dating and this is exciting for you. In a short period of time, you realize even though this is a different person, the relationship feels similar to the last one and you are unhappy again in this new relationship. The person looks different and has a different name, but how you feel in the relationship is the same as the previous one.

You make changes, the people and places may be different, but you still end up in the same scenario. At this point, the primary question you should be asking is, why is this happening?

Simply put, you are making external changes, but never making internal changes. You left your job for a new one, you ate a strict diet and exercised or you dumped the bad relationship and met someone new. All of these were external changes, new job, diet and exercise, and bringing in a new person. It is a fact that you made a change, you did an action and there was something new in your life. However, you also brought yourself with you when you went to the new job, followed a strict diet and exercise regimen or dumped the old partner to start dating a new one. The part that needed to be changed, didn't change at all. The circumstances, action or people may have changed, but you experienced a similar result because YOU never changed. It may be hard to accept the truth that transformation comes from making internal changes. The internal state is one that many ignore or refuse to take the time to evaluate. This book will help you navigate your internal states and give you techniques to assess how connected you are to your internal state, why you may be disconnected and how to connect back to your Inner Self. From this work you will start to allow yourself to have the external experiences you are meant to have during your life.
