WEFARI BANQUET III

Folarin smiled as he watched the servants busy themselves, tonight was the night of the Wefari banquet, in the past two days, numerous guests have arrived from all over the Oyo kingdom and some came from outside the Oyo kingdom, this was mainly due to the announcement that a new temple would be built and dedicated to the gods in the Wefari village at the same time as the banquet.

Everyone who came to Wefari village all had the same reaction, there was both shock and then greed, just the creation of the cement is enough to arouse greed in all this people, they were not fools, they had immediately realized the potential of the cement, if they had this thing, their fortresses would be sturdier and the defense of their whole kingdom would be raised to another level, anyone who possesses the means to make this thing will surely generate massive profits.

Because of this, several individuals had tried to meet with Folarin within the past two days but he has been avoiding them all, he knew what they all wanted and there was no way he was going to give it to them without making some massive profits in the process.

He walked down the hill where the longhouse was situated and came to the governing building of the Wefari village, he walked to a slightly larger building that was used as the main venue of the banquet.

Inside the building, numerous chiefs and nobles mingled and interracted with each other, some of this nobles knew each other and others didn't but it was always advantageous to know more people, the five great chiefs sat on special seats that was designed for them and they kept eyeing each other as they waited for Folarin's arrival.

Amongst all the nobles in the Oyo kingdom, the individuals who wanted Folarin's secrets the most was this five people, they all understood that whoever could sucessfully get ahold of the cement making technology as well as other ideas that Folarin had, they would grow much stronger than their rivals but they also understood that one great family couldn't swallow all the benefits Folarin's village brought alone or they would be destroyed by the other villages so they had all agreed that they would each share the wealth that Folarin had to offer, as for Folarin himself, even though he had intimidated them at the gates of Wefari, they still saw him as a member of the younger generation, a little pressure from powerful individuals such as them and he is sure to spill all his secrets, by the time the news gets to either Mobo, Adebowale or Seyi, they would have gotten want they wanted and it would be too late to stop them, the only challenge was how to get a bigger piece of the pie than the other families.

"The village chief has arrived!"

With the announcement from the guard standing at the door, all the mumbles and talking immediately quieted down as Folarin entered the building.

The room remained silent and only Folarin's footsteps could be heard as he moved to sit in a position that overlooked everyone in the room, upon seeing this, the five great chiefs frowned, they had always been the ones to sit in a high position even at other people's parties, for Folarin to ignore them and place his seat even higher than theirs shows that he isn't giving them any regard but before they could complain, Folarin opened his mouth and said

"Everyone, i am glad to see you attend the banquet of my village today, it has been a tough road building this village piece by piece and i am honestly glad to see it completed. You all honor me with your grace presence tonight and for this, i thank you."

Folarin stopped for a bit and bowed his head slightly towards the crowd which immediately earned him favorability from this nobles

"Tonight, i invite you all to drink, eat and make merry as you wish." Folarin finished his speech with a smile and was about to sit down when Ira suddenly stood up and said "Chief of the Wefari village, correct me if i am wrong but isn't the priestess currently staying in this village currently."
