To all who bind/want to bind, please do it safely.

I know you probably hear this a lot, but you can do irreparable damage by binding unsafely.


Listen up:

Never wear two binders at once. It is better to not be completely flat than crack a rib and never be able to bind again.

Never bind longer than 10 hours, 8 is already pushing it, and 6 is a healthy maximum.

Take breaks while binding, don't bind at home, and make sure to take it off when you're alone.

NEVER sleep in a binder! Please just don't.

Don't buy a binder smaller than the recommended size. They know what they're doing and any smaller than recommended can hurt you.

Listen to your body. If you are beginning to feel uncomfortable, take it off. Don't risk getting hurt.

Bring a sports bra with you when you go out so that you have the option to change.

Don't exercise in your binder!!!

Don't buy a binder off Amazon. It's a bad idea.

While you can wear homemade binders, you should be more careful in them. Homemade binders will not get you as flat as professional ones will so don't try to get fully flat. Also, don't bind for as long with non-professional ones.

The following work as binders:

Two unpadded sports bras on top of one anouther.

Tights with the legs cut off and a hole cut in the crotch.

Rolled-up tank tops.
