Start from the beginning

"goodnight" i mumbled

i shut my eyes; just wanting to block the whole word out

i drifted off to sleep soon after, but not before i heard ross say something i wasn't expecting to hear

"i don't know if your awake, but remember i love you, and that you are strong, your mums strong, stay strong for me"

this kid.

when i woke up it hit me again, my mum was really sick. i couldn't help her either

cancer is a bitch.

ross was already awake and waiting for me to wake up, i rubbed my eyes before smiling at him with my eyes closed still

"good morning" he said with a genuine smile

"hey" i smiled lightly

"how you feeling?" he asked

"like crap" i said grabbing my phone

"i know bubba, but maybe if you came to seattle after your mums doctors appointment then it would get your mind off it" he said smirking

i didn't reply.

"i don't want you to think i'm taking you away from time with your mother, but we don't know if she really has it yet right, and i just want you to be happy, having to see you crying over the phone makes me hurt, and i just want to pull you into a huge hug" he continued

i nodded.

"cancer sucks, i know, but it won't hit her straight away, okay? i want you to be here and safe with me, without worrying" he said cooing me

"i'll come, i just need to tell my parents" i sighed

he nodded.

after a debate with my family about me leaving for seattle tomorrow morning they finally agreed

they were very hesitant because of my mother, i was praying she would be okay through the days i'm over there

maddie and the boys also got a ticket but they didn't want to use it so soon

which is understandable.

it was around 3pm and i had nothing to do, i packed a little but the only things left were things for the morning

i decided it was probably best to spend some time with my mother before i left in the morning

my flight was at early tomorrow morning, around 4am, my mothers doctor appointment was in an hour and my dad was helping her get ready

i went to speak to her this morning with my siblings but she looked nothing like the mum i know, her hair was messy, her eye bags were really bad and she looked skinnier than before

we sat beside her and we're talking about me leaving for three days.

i told her that i will be back before she knows it, she thinkd it's the best for me to go anyway, she won't be...gone, or hurt before i come back

~

"ready?" my dad asks everyone as we are stood by the front door

we nodded as my dad wheeled my mum outside in a wheelchair, we got to the car and i watched max help my dad lift my mum into the car

i climbed in the back with maddie and the two boys sat in the middle

~

the wait was the worst thing, my leg was continuously bouncing up and down in my seat
