Chapter Fourteen - The Fall

Asher's pov

I was super excited when it was time for me and Kelly surfing lesson. Alli was going to get some snacks for us and so me and Kelly were left alone. First I taught her how to clean the board. Alli let her use her surfboard. It was such a awesome feeling when she laughed at my stupid jokes. He had such a pretty smile. I would rather watch her all day then do anything else in the world. Her teeth were like stars and her hair was like silk. She was perfect.

Stop it Asher!

Next I showed her how to stand on the board. I placed my board next to hers and I showed her how to paddle.

"Ok, lay on your stomach and use your arms to paddle." I said showing her what I mean. She did the same. "Ok good, now once you seem right behind the wave, you have to paddle, and then you will have to jump up on your board." I jumped up on the board and put my hands out to show her how to balance. She did the same. "All you will have to do now it balance and let the wave take you into shore." She smiled and nodded her head.

"Awesome, thanks for teaching me Asher."

"Your welcome, do you think you are ready to catch your first wave?" I asked.

"I don't think I'm ready just yet."

"Oh come on, I will be right next to you the whole time." I said smiling at her. She smiled back.

"Ok, but you better be next to me the whole time." she said.

"I will, don't worry." I said and we headed to the ocean.

Kelly's pov.

I was really nervous to surf. Alli was watching us, waving and smiling. Once we got off far enough Cody and I sat on our surfboards and talked about school.

"So what do you think about Alex?" Cody asked out of the blue.

"Alex Rogers?" I asked looked at him weird.

"Yeah, him." he said

"Well he is really nice to me. He calls me beautiful like its my name." I said laughing to myself, "He also likes to complements me, like a lot. He was like freaking out when I sang in choir. He was acting like I was Katy Perry or something." I smiled and looked at him. He looked sad. "Are you ok Asher?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" I asked sounding worried.

"Yeah, I'm great." He looked behind us and his eyes got big.

"Asher, what's wrong?" I asked looking behind us. My eyes got big. A huge wave was roaring behind.

"Are you ready?' Asher asked laying our stomach. I laid my stomach.

"Yep, lets do it."

We both started paddling as fast as we could towards shore.

"STAND UP!" Asher yelled over the sound of the roaring wave. We both stood up and I was riding are both wave. It was amazing feeling. The wind was blowing thought hair and I felt like I was flying. All I remember is slipping off the board and falling into the water.

Asher's pov.

Once I came up from under the water, I did not see Kelly anywhere.

Oh my god.

I dove into the water and saw Kelly laying on the ground with her eyes closed. I lifted her up and placed her on my surfboard and I brought her into shore. My mom and my dad ran to me.

"What happened?!" my mom said looking at Kelly.

"I think she hit her head on a rock when she slipped off the board." I said looking at her. Her eyes still closed.

"Lets just get her under shade and Ashley and Alli can you go get ice from one of the lifeguards." My dad said. Tears filled in my eyes.

What have I done?! I made her go in the water. I should have known she was not ready.

"Asher," my dad said looking at me. "She will be ok, she just got the wind knocked out of her. Let's bring her to the umbrella." My dad started to pick her up but I stopped him.

"Dad, I can do it." I said cradling her in my arms. I put her closed to my chest as I carried her the umbrella and sat her down under it. Alli came and put ice on her forehead.

"Asher, where you crying?" she asked looking at me. My eyes were still red.

"No, I just got sand in my eyes." I said rubbing them. Alli placed her hand on my back.

"It's not your fault. You didn't know." Alli said and stood up to go get Tom. I squeezed her soft hand with mine and a tear fell down my face. Her eyes fluttered open and that beautiful smile came back on her face.

Kelly's pov.

I woke up with bad headache and saw Asher's hand in mine and his eyes red and watery. I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back and started to stutter.

"K-Kelly, I'm so-o sorry, I didn't mean for y-you to get h-hurt. I should h-have known y-you weren't r-ready."

"Asher don't blame yourself. I was not your fault. My clumsy self fell off the board." I said laughing. He laughed too. He looked so cute laughing.

Wait.. What did I just think....

"Oh, thank you for saving me." I said smiling at him. He blushed helping me stand up. I still felt dizzy and I almost fell over. But Asher grabbed my waist and helped me stand up. I was like the first time we met. I felt my cheeks turn red . He smiled at me.

"KELLY! YOUR AWAKE!" Alli screamed running towards me with Tom at her heels. She came in at me at full speed tackling me down to the sand with a huge hug.

"Yes, Yes, I am awake, now can you get off of me. I am getting squished." I said laughing.

"Sorry." Alli said standing up.

"Kelly, are you ok?!" Tom asked worried.

"Yes, I'm ok. I just have a really bad headache. If it wasn't for Mr.Superhero over here, I would be still in the ocean." I said pointing at Asher. He smiled grabbing my towel, wrapping it around me. "Thanks." I said smiling at him. He nodded his head.

'Well, that was a lot of excitement for today, let's get Kelly home." Angie said packing up everything. "Would you like to come over for dinner Kelly?"

"I would love to!" I said.

"Can she sleepover?" Alli begged.

"If Kelly wants to, I mean she may have headache." My dad said as we all walked to the cars.

"I will be ok. I would love to sleepover if its ok with you guys." I said

"You are welcome at our house anytime. Welcome to the Smith family!" Angie said smiling.

This is going to be a lot of fun!
