Chapter Eight- The New Neighbors

Once I came thought the door, I could smell my mom's homemade lasagna.

"Lasagna?"I asked walking into the kitchen.

"Yep", she said smiling,"Now go get cleaned up, dinner with be done in 30"

"Ok" I said and ran up stairs. There was still nothing in the bathroom so it took me forever to find what I needed. I finally found everything and took a quick shower. I threw my hair up and a loose bun and put on my Wisconsin badger sweat pants and tee shirt. I ran down the stairs, almost falling. I sat on the couch still having time to spare before dinner.

"Ding dong"

"Mom's someone's at the door!"

"Yes my princess, you just stay on you lazy butt and watch MTV," she said rolling her eyes.

I laughed.

Typical mom.

"Hello, my name Ashley Madison," said a sweet voice. I looked up from the TV and saw a small, skinny women. She had short black hair and brown eyes, she almost looked model like.

"Hi, I'm Tracy Cooper and that's is Kelly Cooper," she pointed at me.

"Hi," I said waving.

"Oh hi, You must be the girl my two boys are talking about. They keep going on and on about how pretty you are."

"Thanks," I said blushing.

"Here I made you guys some of my homemade brownies with peanut butter chips." She handed my mom a plate covered in tinfoil.

"Oh my, that's very sweet of you!" my mom said.

"So you guys are from Wisconsin, right?"

"Yep! My husband, Dave, got a new job and it moved us down here."

"Well I hope you enjoy it here, oh and Kelly, what school are you going to?"

"I will be attending San Diego High School."

"9th grade?"

"Yep!"

"Hey, then you are the same age as my oldest son."

"That's cool."

"Well it is was nice meeting you both."

"Yep, nice meeting you too," my mom said smiling.

"Goodbye"

"Bye!",my mom replied shutting the door,"Ok hun, lets eat!!"

"Finally! I am starving."

9:30 rolled around and I was ready for bed. Boxes still stacked up around my room like a maze so tonight I have to sleep on a blow up mattress. Yippee for me :( I heard a knock at the door.

"Can I come in?"

"Yeah."

My mom opened the door and sat on the floor right beside me.

"Are you ready for school tomorrow?"

"Yeah I guess." I said fidgeting with my fingers.

"Oh, you will be just fine," she said moving a strand of hair away from my face,"You have a big heart and your a beautiful girl, I promise you will be perfectly fine."

"Ok." I said softly.

"Ok, good night baby, I love you," she said kissing my temple.

"Goodnight mom," I said as she turned of the light and shut the door.

How am I going to sleep to night?
