Chapter Nine - The First Day

"Baby, baby,baby,ohhhhhh, baby, baby, baby ohhhhhh...."

My alarm sang. 6:00 is read. I groaned.

Time to go to school :(

I rubbed my sleepy eyes and stood up from my not-so-comfortable bed. I could definitely feel that it deflated overnight. I took a quick shower and dried my hair, putting it into a water fall braid.I slowly walked to the boxes laying beside my bed. I finally found a off the shoulder top that said "Keep Calm and Dance On" and my white shorts. I looked at myself in the mirror. Running my hand on my stomach, trying to suck in.

Why do I have to look like this?

I applied light makeup and went down stairs. I put 2 pieces of toast in the toaster and turned to see a note on the table:

Dear Kell,

Your dad and I had to go to work early. I hope you have a good day at school! The bus will pick you up at 7:00. I love you soo much!

I smiled and took the toast out of the toaster and put some jelly. I quickly ate it up and made sure I had everything in my backpack. Looking at the clock, 7:00

Oh god.

I grabbed my backpack and went to the bus stop. Thank god it was not a long walk from my house. When I got there it was only me, 2 other girls, and a boy with black sunglasses. I could feel him stare at me as I walked there, I just pretended he was not there.

"You must be the new girl?" one of the girls asked as I took my final step to the stop.

"Yeah."

"How do you like California so far?" asked the other girl standing next to her.

"It is very pretty here, and way warmer here then it is back in Wisconsin."

"Oh I'm Alli by the way." Alli said smiling and moving her light blonde hair out of her face, " and this is Madison." She pointed to the girl right next to her, twirling the brown curly hair with one hand and waving with the other, "Me and Madison are in 8th grade. What about you?"

"I am in 9th"

All of a sudden a big bang came from in front of us. It was that boy, still with his black sunglasses on. He must have dropped his guitar. Alli rolled her eyes.

"That's just my brother. He is in 9th grade as well and he brings he guitar everyday to school, but that's weird, that he dropped it. He is usual holding on to it like its his baby."

"Oh" I said looking at him. He was opening the guitar case to check if it was ok.

The bus finally came and we all hopped on. I sat next to Alli and Madison and Alli's brother sat right behind us. The bus was not that packed but I did not want to sit with anyone else. We where the last stop so we got on and off the bus in like 7 minutes.

"Oh, we forgot to ask, what's your name?" Alli asked as we stepped off the bus.

"I'm Kelly"

"Well do you want us to lead you to the main office?"

"I can do it." said a voice. I turned around and saw the same guy I saw that Instagram picture. He looked like a fucking model. His dark chocolate eyes found mine and I could feel my cheeks get red. He was wearing his varsity jacket and Alex was embroidered into his right pocket. His teeth shined like tiny little pearls on a $1000 dollar necklace.

God is he beautiful.

"Ok," Madison said winking at me and Alli and Madison walked thought the front doors.

Ok I'm mad at those two but this guy is cute!

"I'm Alex Rogers," he said sticking out his hand.

"Kelly Cooper", I said shaking his hand.

"Well Kelly Cooper, right this way," Alex said pointing to the staircase to the front door.

"Thank you."

I opened the door to the large empty school.

Everyone must be in their class already.

"So why aren't you in class?" I asked him with a questioning look on my face.

"I asked the teacher if I could help you find the main office. She thinks I am being a good kid. It's a way to get out of class." he said rolling his eyes.

I laughed.

"You have a really pretty laugh." he said smiling.

I blushed looking at the floor.

"Well here we are." Alex said pointing the door.

"Thanks Alex."

"Anytime beautiful."

I blushed again. "Its Kelly."

"I know," he said smiling, "I just think beautiful fits you better." He winked and walked down to his class.

I walked into the office and saw a small women with glasses looking at her computer screen.

"Excuse me, I am new here and I came to pick up my map and class times"

She looked up from her computer screen and smiled.

"I have all right here honey." she said handing me a stack of papers, "I will right you a pass to your first class." She took a pad of paper and scribbled on it and handed it to me. "Just follow your map and you will find your class very quickly."

"Ok thank you very much."

"Yep, and if you have any questions just come find me. I will be here. Oh by the way, you can call me Miss Collins."

"Ok, thank you again Miss Collins."

I stepped out of the office and followed my map to my first class, social studies. When I finally found the class after 10 minutes. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I knocked on the door.

Here goes nothing.
