"Kelly, wake up,"

"Uggg," I roll over and throw the pillow of my head trying to block her out

"Come on Kell, it's moving day."

Didn't work.

"That's why I don't want to get up," I moaned.

I rolled out of bed and rubbed my eyes, smearing the make up I forgot to take off last night. I looked outside to see the snow blanketing the ground.

Last time I will ever see that.

Living here in freezing cold Wisconsin is all I ever knew and what I have grown to love. My dad got a new job, that means we have to move. I now have to leave all of my friend in the beginning of the school year. Yippee for me. The people I will miss the most is my best friend Abby and my boyfriend Riley. I haven't told Riley yet because I know he would get bad and we would break up. The though of loosing his is.... Is something I can't even imagine. I have tried practicing in front of the mirror on how I'm going to tell him. The words just didn't make any sense like a math equation you don't understand. I decided I wrote him a note and I will give it to him today before I leave. I started school in September but now it November and I have to move. My freshman year and I have to leave. It. Sucks. I slipped off my loose pj top and comfy bottoms and put them into one of the boxes laying in my room. I feel like a hoarder I have some many boxes and shit laying everywhere. I opened another box and took out a pair of skinny jeans and one of her sweaters. Living in Wisconsin, it is almost always cold. Making my way though the maze of boxes, I find my way down stairs to find my dad sipping on coffee and watching ESPN. I sat down next to him.

"Good morning sleep head," my dad said giving me a kiss on the head.

"Hi dad. When do we have to leave?," I asked.

"In 2 hours."

"Ok, because I wanna go see Riley and Abby and say goodbye."

"Ok, you can go now and we will finish packing for you."

"Thanks dad."

I stepped in to the cold November air. It hit me like a wrecking ball. The wind making my eyes water. I hopped in my little bug and drove to Abby's house. I memorize the way to her house like the back of my hand. I know every turn and every intersection. I pulled into the small 2 story house. It must be about 100 years old but it was beautiful. This was like my dream house. When I knocked on the door, Abby's mom, Molly, opened the door.

"Hey hon, come on in! Abby has been up in her room all this morning."

"Ok."

I walked up to flight of stairs and down the narrow hallway to the last door, Abby's room. I looked at all the pictures on her door. Us at the mall, us at the water park, the last day of 6th grade, and us in our halloween costumes. I was a bumblebee and she was a cat. My eyes started to tear up. I could feel my stomach flip and my heart raced.

I really don't want to do this.

I took a deep breath, wiped away my tears, and knocked on her door.

"Hey Abbs", I said as I walked in. She was on her phone laying in bed listing to Blake Shelton.

"Kell, I though you left?!"

Abby set her phone down and ran to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me close.

"I am so happy you stayed."

"Abby, I am still moving," I said

"Oh," disappointment was very noticeable in her voice. Her pretty smile fated.

"I came here to say goodbye."

"Before you go I have something for you." Abby went to her desk and looked though her messy drawer. She took out a small pink box.

"Here," she said handing it to me.

I took the small box and opened it up. It was a locket. A heart shaped locket. I opened it up and my eyes started to water. It was a picture of Riley, Abby, and I all at our 9th grade homecoming dance. Me and Abby picked out dressed together. Mine was purple and Abby's was blue. Riley picked out a tie that matched my dress. It was the best day ever and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I looked up at Abby and smiled.

"Thanks Abbs," I said and gave her a huge bear hug. And I didn't let go. I could feel Abby start to cry, tears ran down her cheeks and on my shirt.

"I will really miss you Kell," she said letting go of the hug.

"I will miss you too."

I looked down at my watch. "Shit. I have to go, so I can see Riley."

"Oh ok", Abby said frowning, "Bye Kelly."

"Bye Abby."

"You promise you won't forget about me?"

I opened the door and looked down at the floor then at her, "I will never forget about you," I said showing her the necklace I held in my hand. I gave it a kiss and smiled shined though her tears. I walked out the door and headed down the stairs. I said goodbye to Abby's mom and gave her a hug goodbye. I stepped outside and walked to my car.

Now time to face Riley.
