"Everyone get ready! Parent's will be arriving soon!" Mrs. Thomas said from the head of the classroom. I was knee deep in crayola markers trying to finish up my final touches on my science project.

I wanted mommy to be so proud of me.

"Aurora, Bentley, and Sarah! Get your classmates ready to walk down the hallway!" She called out again as I stood up. My colored sign in hand and ready to go. I walked over to the line and waited silently for us to start walking down the hallway.

It was a science fair day.

Parents and kids from other grades came to look at our projects we spent all week working on. I was so excited to show mommy that I cared about her enough to make a project about her.

I had an idea, everyone else was doing penguins, but I wanted to do medical science. Mrs. Thomas and I had to work super hard on this. She had known a lot about mommy, she was the teacher who got me taken away from her.

My picture was one that was going to stand out because rather than the science behind an elephant or penguin, mine was at the drug and rehab center down the road from my elementary school.

"Fourth graders! Enter the gymnasium! Go to your marker buttons and whoever steps on your button—that's when you tell them the information about your science!" Mrs. Thomas spoke as we all cheered and ran towards our homemade buttons.
