Chapter 36:  Ordinary Days

Advertisement: 60 minutes of moving on is a story written by my magandang friend, Kyeoptashi.  This will inspire heartbroken people out there like me.

LARA’s POV

I’m in my room making gifts for my one and only love.

Tama nga sila, gagawa at gagawa ka ng paraan para maipadama sa mahal mo ang pagmamahal no matter how unexpressive you are. Hindi naman ako ganito ka corny noon eh. Ewan ko ba.

For my February 11th gift, I placed a champagne glass with chocolates inside the red heart box and placed a valentine’s card. I sealed it with a red ribbon.

For my February 12th gift, I wrote something on the card and placed it inside the red heart box with two cute teddy bears.

For my February 13th gift, the red heart box contains two coffee mugs and another valentine’s card.

Lastly, for my February 14th gift, dito na ako natagalan. It has to be special.

I pause for a moment to think of what to write on the card.

Babe my dearest,

Thank you for letting me be a part of your life. You filled the empty spaces and you never missed a day without making me smile. You make me happy when skies are gray; you make me blissful on your own gentle way.

When we first met, I had no idea you could be this special to me and I had no I idea that at that moment, I already found my world.

Thank you for giving me reasons to love again, to trust again and to celebrate this Valentine’s day again. Thank you for giving me another opportunity to be loved and to fall in love.

I love you not just on Heart’s Day, but today, tomorrow and forever.

Always be your babe,

Lara Eunice

After writing, I smiled in satisfaction, placed the frame with our picture and closed the last heart box. This is a special gift, wrapped up with love, bound by a promise and sealed by a kiss.

Hindi naman special ang February 14 sa akin noon eh. It’s just a day where I can get a lot of flowers and gifts though it’s not my birthday. It’s just a day that I had to get over with. It’s just an ordinary day long after Tristan gave me reason to celebrate it.

Okay! Every gift is ready!

February 11…..

I asked Dana to give the gift for me. Idadaan lang naman niya ito sa classroom nina Tristan. They’re in the same building kasi, engineering building. Ako naman, sa accountancy building. Pagod na rin kasi ako pumunta doon, I have a dozen of ex-boyfriends there kaya iwas gulo muna.

I was bored with our subject teacher kaya tumingin na ako sa labas. I saw some handsome passersby, some college students dating, and some skater boys. Habang nagbibilang ng minuto, I felt my phone vibrated kaya binuksan ko ito. It’s a missed call from Tristan. He might have just received my gift. After a while, I saw him leaning on his cube waiting for our dismissal with a big smile.

As soon as our professor utter the word “Let’s call it a day”, Dali-dali akong lumabas.

“Advance huh?”

“Yup, Don’t tell me it’s weird dahil isang linggo mo akong hindi makikita kapag ginawa mo yun.”

Instead of arguing with me, he gave me a sweet kiss in public. Okay ladies! Tristan is mine! I had chills running down my back dahil kahit bibitaw na ako, he still continued kissing me. I felt like melting, like literally melting.
