"You never told me what our plan is." Hailey hums, tilting her head against the car seat to look at him. All he had told her about their night out was to dress nice, but not too nice.

Rudy gives her a small smirk, glancing over for a second. "Well no, but I told you it's a surprise. So stop trying to ruin it for yourself!"

Haileys expression turns into a pout but Rudy only laughs, reaching over to rest his hand on her thigh and giving it a slight squeeze. The brunette couldn't help but play around with the rings on his fingers as he drove, praying to get to wherever they were going soon.

He finally pulls up into a parking lot, but Hailey didn't see any familiar restaurants around, in fact there were barely any building. She found this to be suspicious since the blonde boy had told her he made dinner reservations at some restaurant.

Rudy leans over to pull the glove compartment open, pulling out a blindfold and instructing her to put it on. Hailey argues with him for a couple minutes before finally giving in, she could hear him fumbling around with something in the back seat before coming over to help her out of the car.

"Rudy, I swear to God, if I trip.." she threatens, grasping his hand tightly in fear.

"I promise you won't trip, just try not to break my fingers, please."

They weren't walking for very far, but Hailey could tell through the blindfold that they were somewhere dim. "Did you bring me somewhere to kill me?"

Rudy let's out a gasp, squeezing her hand. "How did you know? Gotta be quick now."

She reaches out her other hand to smack his shoulder. "This isn't funny!"

"Calm down! We're here. I'm gonna let go of your hand, but don't take off the blindfold, okay?"

"What? Rudy, no!"

"Hails, it's fine, I promise."

Hailey protested for a few more minutes after he let go of her hand, complaining that he actually was trying to kill her or he was going to leave her out here to fend for herself. Her theories proved untrue however as she could hear him laeit hung quietly at her ramblings and fumbling around with something.

Rudy finally comes back to stand behind her, his hands resting on the blindfold. "Alright, I'm taking it off."

The setting ahead of her was truly one to behold. They seemed to be stood in some sort of park or reserve, a picnic blanket set on the grass and a basket in the corner with a few candles surrounding it. Hailey covers her mouth in shock, turning around to look at the boy who was beaming brightly at her.

"Rudy, I'm literally gonna cry." she pouts, wrapping her arms around him and squeezing him tightly.

The boy lets out a laugh, squeezing her back just as tightly. "I'm guessing you like it?"

"I love it!"

Rudy leads her over to the blanket and began to unpack the basket, both of them being increasingly careful of the candles around them. Hailey took her time to admire where they were, there were a few walkway lamps set up around them, so it wasn't completely dark. A few lanterns hung from the trees but she wasn't sure if that was Rudys doing or the park.

"When did you even make all this?" Hailey questions, looking over the food he had brought. "You've been with me every second for the past couple days."

"Truth be told, Madison and Avery helped out a little." he confesses, hoping he didn't ruin things, but the ever growing smile on her face proved otherwise.

Their night was spent as any other they would spend together, in complete bliss. The picnic basket was filled with an assortment of cheeses and salads along with a large box of pizza and chocolate strawberries courtesy of Alex. Hailey couldn't help but admire the man across from her, not believing that he took the time to actually plan and do all this for her. He knew picnics were her favorite things to do.

"Thank you, for this." she smiles at him, her head slightly tilted in admiration. "I can see you're trying, Ru, and I love every moment of it."

"Well, that's good. Because there's one other thing." he smiles back, reaching into the picnic basket and moving closer to her. He pulls out a small velvet box, which her eyes widen at for a minute. "It's not what you think it is, I promise."

Rudy opens the small box, revealing a small golden sunflower pendant. "It's supposed to symbolise good luck and lasting happiness. That's what I want for us."

Haileys eyes were tearing up as he picks up the necklace out of box, holding it out to her. She takes a moment to admire it, thinking it probably cost him a lot to get.

"I know we haven't had the greatest track record." she laughs at his words. "But I want this, Hailey. For real this time. I want to be able to call you my girlfriend and to just be with you, if you'll let me."

Hailey lets out a little giggle, placing her hand on his cheek and pulling him in for a kiss. The relief that flooded Rudys body was unexplainable, he thought for a second that she would turn him down.

"I want that too, Ru."
